Tak for en hyggelig fernisering!

Laurits Nymand Svendsen – Repository of Longing – MuRI 4.1

Finissage & bogudgivelse: Fredag d. 31. oktober kl. 16-19

En ravproducent med en leveringstid på flere millioner år. Et konsulentbureau, der tilbyder klapsalver og moralsk opbakning til nedtrykte CEOs. Et flaskepostfirma, som selv står for søsætningen. Det er blot nogle af de mange usandsynlige virksomheder, du kan møde i den seneste udgave af MuRI – version 4.1.

MuRI er et museum, der altid er ved at blive mere digitalt. Med version 4.1 kommer langt om længe den den virtuelle udgave af vores virksomhedssamling BUSINESS. Samtidig lancerer vi vores virtuelle museumsbutik samt flere nye dele af MuRI, som aldrig har været tilgængelige før. Træd ind i en 3D-simulation af et fysisk museum, hvor din oplevelse er i fokus, og hvor dit fokus nemt deler sig.

På XM3 kan du opleve MuRI på specialdesignede computere, som også byder på et udvalg af MuRIs andre samlinger. Du kan fx fordybe dig i vores omfattende samling af eksperimenterende dyrekunst eller fortabe dig i ruinparkens lydvandringer.

MERCHANDISE

MuRI 4.1 er en fejring af glæden og gåden ved en god forretning. Derfor har vi udviklet en række helt nye og eksklusive museumsprodukter, som sælges for første gang på XM3 – først til mølle.

I forbindelse med den digitale udgave af samlingen BUSINESS kommer nu en udgivelse af samme navn. Kom og vær med, når vi udgiver bogen den 31. oktober.

That which is considered noise by some

‘That which is considered noise by some’ by Morten Poulsen.

“Acoustics often relates to the physical and material conditions for sound. But an expanded understanding of acoustics, as an atmosphere that include the immaterial, sets the framework for what types of sounds there is space for, and how we listen to them, including questions about which voices are heard; and which voices are overheard. There are cultural norms for what and who is worth listening to, and we can see them as lines that outline our possibilities for listening and expressing ourselves. In this context, noise is that which escapes the lines that limits what is permitted.”

Materials: Shopping cart, loudspeakers, cardboard signs, stage light, hand painted wood length, two audio works (‘drums’ (02.50) & ‘Sympathetic Resonance’ (04.00), Essay in two chapters (‘On the efforts not to listen’ and ‘On positions of power and Silence as an ideal’).
