We are looking for new International Scouts beginning of the summer semester 2023.🥰
Hello everyone,
Since first day of establishment of Culture Talk Weimar, we have used our FB account in order to inform about all activities, schedules and latest events. We have shared photos/videos of best memories of our events, which we have chance to meet with you, have new friends, learn more about other countries and cultures, enjoy the time together, exchange the knowledge and experiences, create new friendships, get closer to our University and city, be more aware of latest issues around both our city and world, get ready for new adventures and many more. Shortly it was a pleasure to have you here. We enjoyed a lot 😊
Surely we keep doing more and we will have many more events in future.
We would like to announce that we will close our FB account. But of course you can follow us on Instagram ().
If you want to know about our latest events, please do not hesitate to follow us there 😊.
See you on Instagram and in next events.
We wish you pleasant day 👋
We’re back!
Join us for our first event this winter semester on Wednesday 12 October at 20:00 at Kasseturm!
You are already in Weimar, getting ready for the new semester? While waiting for the new Culture Talk season, here is the recommendation within Kunstfest Weimar, the project from Bauhaus students that transforms the trash/waste into something new and creative!
PS: Culture Talk scouts will be there as well! We can enjoy the summer in Weimar together 😊
Are you ready for the first workshop within Kunstfest Weimar?
In 3 days our collective action will start on the Theaterplatz!
We are very excited to have you on-site and work together! 😊
Background 🌼
Facing the urgency of the current climate crisis can evoke a feeling of being overwhelmed, and one might perceive the influence of a single person as insignificant. By developing the Trashquestra project wanted to strike the topic of waste with a new tone and tackle its entailing challenge with music - create a participatory performance that activates a feeling of being part of something bigger as well as sensitizing to the value of trash.
Having the topic that urges us to react, we were wondering: what is the importance of the individual on the whole? How can we find through art ways of bringing new energy to an issue that we have been carrying with us for a while, that seems to be overtaking us?
All these concerns become challenges that motivated the initiative and transformed the questions into a collective act.
Our mission is not just raising awareness by talking about it, but by doing, it as a global team and finding this new strategy through efficient playfulness.
Welcome to this week's Cultural Talks! Yesterday we listened to the Future Nostalgia project, by our colleague Nadja Krakunovic. Between sound pieces and new archaeological objects, we talked a bit about the future and the different appreciations we have about it.
Enjoy!

Our team feels very sorry, and hopes to see you soon.

Moreover, we are very interested to hear your own! You can write us, leave a comment or talk about it at the next CT event. 🌻🍓📢

Dear CT followers, students, and culture lovers,
we are very excited to start the summer semester in person again!
Our first event will happen this Wednesday, 06.04 and we decided to open the season with a landlocked country in Western Europe where 3 languages are officially spoken. Therefore, we are diving into the Louxemburgish experience of our dear guest Fabienne! :)
In a form of an interview, we will have the chance to hear some historical background as well as personal experiences of our Culture Talk guests and enjoy the finger food that will stay a surprise!
Wednesday, 9 PM, Kasseturm. See you there! :)
For our last Culture Talk of the semester, we decided to stream Live from Chemnitz to talk about the projects of the department
Nadja, Mon and Laura explained the exhibition and allowed us some insights into the process of creating art for public spaces 🌈🎉✨
Happy Holidays from Culture Talk Weimar!
For this session, which unfortunately has to be online again, we wanted to warm your heart with some sun in December and share the traveling stories of our scouts.
We will hear the experience from the workshop "Heritage for Communities" that happened in the capital of Egypt, Cairo, as well as on the village side in Luxor and New Gourna village. This was a collaboration between Bauhaus University and Cairo University of Engineering that gathered almost 30 students from the field of architecture, urbanism, and art that worked on the New Gourna village site for two weeks.
Our scout, Nadja, and her colleague and friend Timo were part of the group that developed a project "Vernacular Paradise" dealing with the urban, architectural, social, and ecological solutions of the public space in the village.
What means vernacular
and which paradise did they encounter in the West Bank of town Luxor in Egypt? How was their experience of Egypt different from a regular tourist one? What food and drinks have they tried and what songs have they learned?
We will hear all the answers in our CT session!
Our team will present the video of the project they did, as well as discuss it with the participants on Tuesday evening, 8 PM!
Stay tuned and walk like an Egyptian!
