Venezia 📍 This week during the Biennale Danza as part of “Strange Rules”, the protocol art exhibition at Palazzo Diedo Berggruen Arts & Culture we are showing a new performance installation entitled Human Unreadable: Body Not Included. The performance exposes the choreographic infrastructure of our work Human Unreadable, deploying the outputs of our choreographic algorithm as the raw material for a live performance the algorithm specifies but cannot itself perform. It foregrounds the tension between instruction and enactment, system and subject, protocol and embodiment. The work is presented in the context of Strange Rules within Attention Guild, the ongoing installation by Mat Dryhurst and Holly Herndon🧫 Herndon, in collaboration with SUB. The choreographic score exists as infrastructure; the performance exists only through the temporary appearance of a body not included in the code.
