🎼 We continue our series of choir introductions with new voices from Bulgaria: In Sacris Chamber Choir 🇧🇬

🏅 In Sacris has quickly established itself as one of the finest ensembles of its kind. While the choir usually performs a ca****la, it also collaborates with symphony orchestras when the repertoire calls for it. The size of the ensemble varies between five singers (in solo formations) and around thirty members, depending on the nature of the concert and the program. 🎵🎻

🤝 More than simply a youth choir, In Sacris serves as a cultural community where young people connect through the language of music and share its emotional depth. This creates a unique atmosphere for both performers and audiences—one that reflects the choir’s mission to revive and celebrate the ancient connections between Christian traditions and music in a vivid and engaging way. 🎶💞

🌍 In Sacris has performed in Italy, South Korea, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Serbia, and Georgia. Through its distinctive musical style and its prayerful approach to sacred repertoire, the choir has won the admiration of audiences both in Bulgaria and abroad. 👏

🪄 The choir is currently conducted by Denitsa Kaburova.

Next up is Chór Bydgoskiej Izby Lekarskiej "Medici Cantares" ➕

🎼 The vocal and instrumental ensemble Medici Cantares was founded in 2011 as an official cultural representation body of the Bydgoszcz Medical Chamber 🧑‍🔬. The choir consists of doctors, medicine students, representatives of other medical professions and other music lovers, counting nowadays over 70 people.

🎵 The choir’s wide repertoire includes Christmas carols, classical and popular music and patriotic songs. They regularly create arrangements of pop music hits, in which they refer to difficult aspects of social life.

🪄 Since 2014, the choir’s conductor has been Captain Joanna Krause, a graduate of the Department of Conducting at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and the Commander-Conductor of the Military Orchestra in Toruń. 🫡

Medici Cantares regularly participates in various choir festivals and competitions and in the past two years has been recognised with six Gold Awards, a Grand Prix and several Special Prizes. 🏆🎊

The main venue of our festival Venezia in Musica is a very special building - let us introduce the Duomo di Caorle today! ⛪️

📜 The cathedral is almost one thousand years old - its construction was completed in 1038. Its Romanesque architecture, enriched with Byzantine influences, features a simple yet majestic façade that immediately conveys a sense of grandeur and solemnity. Inside, visitors can admire numerous artistic masterpieces, including the 15th-century wooden Crucifix and the Pala d'Oro, an extraordinary example of Venetian goldsmithing from the 13th-14th century, symbolizing the craftsmanship of the era. The cathedral also gives home to a special artefact: a Roman funerary altar, dating back to the 1st century AD, found in the area.

🔔 Next to the cathedral stands the famous bell tower, which you can often see on our festival photos too 🙂 Dating back to the 11th century, it is one of the few bell towers of this type remaining in Italy and offers spectacular views of the city and the coast.

🇭🇺 A children’s choir from the hosting city of our festival:
We are happy to see you again, Laudate Gyermekkar of Kodály Zoltán Magyar Kórusiskola!

🎼 For nearly 40 years, the Zoltán Kodály Hungarian Choir School has been a unique educational institution in the country, with a focus on choral singing. Their pupils sing 4 hours a week in one of the four choirs operating here, organized by age. 🏫👧🧑‍🦱👱‍♀️

⛪️ Like the other choirs of the school, Laudate Choir performs regularly in the Budavári Matthias Church and often sings in the country’s largest church, St. Stephen’s Basilica. In addition to liturgical services, the choir is involved in various colourful activities. 🎬 For example, the children have also successfully appeared in several films and sung at major events with several famous orchestras of the country, including the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra. 🎻

🏆 Like the other choirs of the Choir School, Laudate Choir is also the winner of numerous domestic and international choral competitions.
🇭🇺 They are currently preparing for presentations of works by several contemporary Hungarian composers.

🎶 We are looking forward to hearing their repertoire!

🎵 A choir with unique activities:
Let us introduce you Jauktais koris Dziesmuvara from Latvia 🇱🇻

🎼 The choir’s repertoire reflects deep respect for traditional Latvian cultural values—communal singing, shared musical experiences, and the spirit of folk heritage—while also embracing experimentation with contemporary forms, styles, and interdisciplinary projects. The choir is formed by like-minded enthusiasts of Latvian choral music who dedicate their free time to cultivating high-quality choral performance and creating meaningful cultural experiences for both themselves and their audiences. Music-making in Dziesmuvara is inseparable from a strong sense of community and shared celebration. 🫶🎊

🌟 Despite its nearly 100-year history, Dziesmuvara is characterized by youthful energy and artistic vitality. The choir has performed on outdoor stages throughout the Latvian countryside as well as in major concert halls in Latvia and abroad. Since its revival in the early 2000s, Dziesmuvara has been an active participant in festivals, charity events, competitions, flash mobs, cultural forums, concerts, and national song festivals; and has several achievements from international choir competitions as well. 🏅

🪄 The choir’s conductors are Nora Žeigure and Oskars Freimanis.

👋 New faces from Sweden 🇸🇪
We are happy to welcome KOPkören! 🧑👨👱‍♂️

🪄 KOPkören is one of the youngest independent male choirs in Stockholm, Sweden. The choir is led by Sebastian Heurlin Fernold, and is exclusively composed by young singers between 18-24 with backgrounds from the prolific music schools of Stockholm. Several of the choristers are currently studying music at different conservatories and music universities. 🎓

🎶 KOPkören was founded in 2023, and has since performed several successful and highly appreciated concerts everywhere, from the esteemed churches of Stockholm to Musikverein in
Vienna, Austria. 👏

🎊 KOPkören has been showered with praise and both the high level and the young age
has often been noted. After their successful competition last year in Vienna, where the choir received great appreciation and several awards, we are happy that they chose Budapest as their next choral destination! 🤩

🫶 Friends from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Welcome to meeting music again, Cantus Raeticus!

🪄 The choir consists of current and former members of the Bündner Jugendchor, founded after the Bündner Jugendchor’s 20th anniversary celebration. 🎊

🎼 The repertoire of Cantus Raeticus ranges from local songs (Rätoromanisch), through international folklore, classical and contemporary choral literature to jazz and pop arrangements. 📍🌍📜🎤

🎊 In addition to successful anniversary concerts, Cantus Raeticus took part in several international competitions, including Musica Eterna Roma in July 2025, where they were awarded a Special Prize, two Gold Diplomas and two category winnings. 🎗️

We wish them the best of luck now at Laurea Mundi Budapest ! 🍀👏
