It's always important to consider the instrument's construction when choosing strings and bow. Heavily built, rather stiff instruments require strings with high tension and a particularly powerful bow. This cello is too rigid and stiff overall to vibrate freely and easily.To improve its responsiveness and give it a more open sound, the sound body will be planed slightly thinner.

We make our bows here in Würzburg, Germany. But how exactly does the process of making our bows work? There are many similarities to the art of crafting wooden bows, except that we don't have to search for suitable wood. We make our bow sticks ourselves, according to our own specifications and recipes. Everything else is just like what you'd expect from a regular bowyer. It takes a great deal of expertise and handwork to complete a high-quality bow.

On Monday, we had the great honor of hosting a string consultation for musicians by experts from Thomastik Infeld in our premises! It was a great pleasure and very exciting for us to see how quickly the sound of instruments can be optimized with the right strings. For us, this was a wonderful addition to the string experience we have already gained. When instrument, strings, and bow are well-matched, the magic truly begins!
