September 1 marks the beginning of a very special new chapter at BINDER: a new generation of trainees has started their professional journey with us.

For BINDER, training young people in-house is an important part of preparing our company for the future. We want to give young talent the opportunity to build professional expertise, gain practical experience and get to know BINDER from the ground up. 💪

At the same time, our training programs help us retain valuable knowledge within the company and develop the skilled professionals who will strengthen our teams in the years ahead. Our trainees experience our processes, products and ways of working first-hand and gradually take on more responsibility.

After their first days at the company, the next activities are already waiting: several team-building events will give our new trainees and their trainers the opportunity to get to know each other better, build connections and grow together as a group. 🚵‍♀️⚽🎯

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
𝗔 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗢₂ 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻 🧫

CO₂ is heavier than air. That is true. This quickly leads to the assumption that CO₂ collects at the bottom of the incubator, while there is less of it at the top. For cell cultures, this would be a problem, because different shelves would then provide different conditions.

𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: 𝗖𝗢₂ 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿
In a well-designed CO₂ incubator, this does not happen. The CO₂ is not simply fed into the chamber. Instead, it is preheated to match the incubator’s temperature and deliberately mixed with the existing atmosphere. At BINDER, this is done by a Venturi gas mixing head.

The Venturi principle is simple and effective: at a constriction, the flow velocity increases. This creates negative pressure, which draws in atmosphere from inside the chamber and mixes it with the supplied CO₂. Gentle gravity convection and diffusion take care of the rest.

Even after the door has been opened, the CO₂ atmosphere recovers quickly. The CO₂ level rises, distributes throughout the chamber and has been shown to return to a stable setpoint after around ten minutes. An additional fan is therefore not necessary for a homogeneous CO₂ atmosphere.

For laboratories and production facilities operating under GMP/GLP conditions, qualification can involve extensive documentation, coordination and repeated testing.

Since then, we have been bringing together two complementary strengths: BINDER GmbH’s global expertise in reach-in environmental simulation technology and Parameter’s engineering know-how in custom environmental walk-in chambers.

Over the past twelve months, this partnership has taken shape in very practical ways. Our teams have strengthened collaboration across engineering, production, customer support, and operations. We have also continued investing in people, manufacturing processes, and operational excellence while maintaining the quality, responsiveness, and customer focus that have long defined Parameter.💡

For customers, this means access to a broader foundation of expertise in temperature and humidity testing: from standard reach-in solutions to custom environmental walk-in chambers for specific testing requirements.

This first year has been about building trust, connecting knowledge, and creating the basis for further collaboration. Thank you to all employees, customers, and partners who have supported this journey so far.

During their visit, we presented our battery test chamber solutions and discussed current developments and requirements in battery testing. Particular interest was shown in our new generation of modular safety packages, designed for applications up to EUCAR Hazard Level 6.

The conversation confirmed that taking a fresh look at established test environments can reveal valuable new options, especially where safety, flexibility and integration are concerned.

126 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter haben an den BINDER-Gesundheitstagen am Standort Tuttlingen teilgenommen. Zwei Tage lang standen im Casino Gesundheit, Prävention und persönliches Wohlbefinden im Mittelpunkt.

Gemeinsam mit der AOK, unserem Betriebsarzt und weiteren Partnern boten wir ein vielseitiges Programm: Von Gesundheits- und Vorsorgechecks über Rücken- und Muskelanalysen bis hin zu Bewegungsangeboten, Stress- und Reaktionstests sowie Impulsen zu Ernährung und Prävention.

Die Rückmeldungen sprechen für sich: Die ausgefüllten Feedbackbögen wurden ausnahmslos positiv bewertet. Besonders gelobt wurden die Vielfalt der Angebote, die ausführlichen Beratungsgespräche sowie das professionelle und freundliche Auftreten der Anbieter. Viele Teilnehmende nahmen konkrete Anregungen für einen gesünderen Alltag mit und fühlten sich durch die Stationen zum Nachdenken angeregt. Auch die gute Organisation und das abwechslungsreiche, gesunde Speisenangebot unseres Caterers fanden großen Anklang. 🥗🍉

Das Ziel war es, Wissen zu vermitteln, persönliche Impulse geben und unseren Mitarbeitenden Raum bieten, sich während des Arbeitsalltags bewusst mit ihrer Gesundheit zu beschäftigen. Dieses Ziel haben wir erreicht.

Since April 2026, Markus Welte has been leading this new business area with a clear mission: to strategically develop BCS as an important pillar of BINDER’s future business and to help customers turn complex requirements into reliable, tailor-made solutions.

• customer-oriented product modifications close to our standard portfolio
• complex project solutions, including Walk-In Chambers for demanding applications and processes

Strong business performance is rarely driven by a single function alone. It results from coordination and collaboration between sales, business development, service, marketing, and product management. 🙌🏼

That was the key takeaway from our 𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗔 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 in Tuttlingen, where colleagues from all these teams across Europe came together to discuss our business challenges, marketing activities, and the product roadmap.

The most valuable aspect was not only identifying these challenges but also openly exchanging perspectives and deriving concrete actions from them, because together, we can more easily navigate this complexity.

Overall, it was an extremely productive meeting with intense discussions (as always 😉), fresh ideas, and a clear focus on how we can move forward together.

And as always, the team also enjoyed a relaxed evening together, because strong collaboration isn’t just built in meeting rooms, but also through personal relationships. 🍜🍹
