Happy Memorial day weekend my beautiful dancers!!

I have been riding on the wave of excitement since last week. You all did such an incredible job, and I've seen so many wonderful videos and pictures circling facebook. I am so very verrrrry proud of all of you.

Thank you for all the flowers and gifts. My arms were full and my heart was fuller.

Hip Hop level 1, if you didn't grab your surf boards, I have them and can set up a time with you all to get those out.

Check back here as summer camps will be announced soon. We are adding a contemporary (modern) class for dancers 9+

Hello all!!!!
We are soooo close! Everyone is excited and, most importantly, ready.

Here is your show note with show times, hair, and etc:

It’s getting close to show time!! Our “Surf and Waves” show is set for Saturday, May 16th at 1:00pm. I am so excited for you all to show what we have been working on. Here are some helpful notes to make this show a success.

Tech Rehearsal (no costumes) will be at normal class times May 7th, 12th and 13th at the base movie theater. This means that your class will meet as usual, except in the theater instead of the studio.

Full dress rehearsal will be on Thursday, May 14th at 3:30pm. All of the dance classes will be present this day and dancers will need to be focused and patient as we make any needed adjustments and do a full show run through. Expect us to finish around 5:30, but it could be later.

On show day, please arrive at the theater at 12:00pm dressed as there isn’t a room for us to change.

Costumes
Tiny Movers (Toddlers) - Red striped swim suits with white skirts and head bands
Hip Hop Level 1 - Hawaiian short set (white skirt for girls)
Hip Hop Level 2 - White button up, khaki shorts/skirt, tube socks, red tie, and glasses
Hip Hop Level 3- Black leotard, blue pants, gloves
Ballet Level 1 - Rainbow leotards with ballet pink tights and hair clip
Ballet Level 2 - Coral leotards with tan tights

Hair and Makeup
- Tiny Movers neat and out of face with the accompanied hair accessory, can be versatile
-Ballet Level 1 High bun with hair clip to right of bun
-Ballet Level 2 hair in a low bun with a middle part.
-Hip Hop Level 1 and 2 hair neat and out of face, but can be versatile
-Hip Hop Level 3 High ponytail

Red lipstick, black eyeliner, mascara, and blush are used in dance to help our faces be seen more clearly when we are on the stage. Families are welcome to apply this at their own discretion.

Last year we were able to commemorate the moment with some beautiful photos. We will have that same opportunity this semester. Please note that pictures are not a requirement. )

Picture day is May 9th with the following schedule:

Tiny Movers (Toodlers) 9:00 am

Ballet 1-10:00am

Ballet 2-11:00pm

Hip Hop Level 1- 12:00pm

Hip Hop Level 2 and 3 at 1:00pm

Ballet Level 3, Pointe, and Jazz 2.00pm

Toddler parents!!! There was one more box in my car!!!! My hands were full when I came in and I had forgot to go to the car and get it. 🙃. All accounted for. I will be at the studio tomorrow from 3- 5 or I will have them with me next week.

Dear Dancers and parents,

Papers went home over the last two weeks about our show and I would like to share the information here. Enjoy:

I am so thankful to have you all a part of the dance program. It has been a fun year so far and I know it will only get better. As a program, we like to put on two dance recitals a year and it is already time for us to start thinking about the spring recital! I am excited to announce that this year our recital will be in the theme of Surf and Waves!!

We are going to have so much fun with this. I can hardly wait to get started.

Our show date is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th at the base movie theater at 1:00pm. This is a free show, open to the public and the concession stand will be open to enhance our enjoyment.

Fees are labeled under the attached photos and are due by March 25th and can be paid to me in cash or through Zelle or Paypal at [email protected], (Please use the friends and family option)

For our last show we were able to commemorate the experience with a special photo session. Pictures came out amazing and we will have that same opportunity for this show. Information on dates and times for photos will be shared at a later time.

Show updates, costume photos, and any other needed information will be shared here on our Facebook dance class page.

I am so excited to put this show together, but cannot possibly do it alone. Please consider volunteering in any capacity you are available. We will need help with stage design and assisting dancers on and off the stage.

Also, please note that the registration for the next two months is open. In order to prepare for our show, new dancers will not be accepted after the last week in March. Opening registration like this allows for everyone to enroll in class and for Ms. Tina to close the portal once everyone does so. If you have any questions on this, please direct them to Ms. TIna.

Hello all,

An email just went out, and I want to post it here as well. If you did not receive an email from me, please message me your address and I will include you in our list.

Please note that there are no classes for March 3rd - 5th. I tried my best to mention this at the end of each class last week, but I know that I forgot a couple. The billing charge for March will reflect the three weeks instead of four to accommodate the missing week.

I also wanted to address the monthly re-registering real quick.

I have talked to Ms. Tina who is in charge of facilitating our program. She handles enrollment, disenrollment, and plenty of things in between. She is in charge of this for not only the dance program, but all of the youth sports programs as well.

It is true that this semester re-registration will look different from seasons past. Instead of the automatic roll-over month to month, families need to log into the parent portal to re-register their dancers. If at any time a dancer decides not to continue with class, you just simply not enroll them for the following month.

Please don't feel any way if your dancer needs to take a break from classes. I would never hold that against anyone.

This is something that parents are asked to do each month. It will, of course, take some getting used to, but I will try to give reminders as best I can. Before we know it, this will become a habit, and be an easy process for all of us.

I understand and have made known the concern with our larger classes that are at their cap, of losing their spots because of this change. Please know, we are taking this concern seriously. Ms. Tina and I will work out any issues as they come. You can take it as a promise from me that if your child has been dancing with us all semester and they would like to continue, there will be no interruption in their classes. They will not be bumped out of their class for new enrollees.

It is my hope that this will help alleviate any worries. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for all and will work hard to make sure that is true.

Notes went home about costumes last week. I will share all of that information in an email over the next couple of days.

Lastly, thank you all for adjusting to the new "no outside shoes on the dance floor" rule. We are so grateful for our new flooring. It gives us more room to move and has a tiny bit extra padding. Having dancers use clean shoes (shoes they are not wearing outside) helps keep down the spread of germs. Also, many of our classes roll or lay on the floor and we want to keep the area as clean as possible. You all have taken on this change so well. Thank you.

You guys are PHENOMENAL!!!!!

I hope you dancers are really proud of the show you put on because it was amazing.

Thank you so much for your hard work and for being flexible. I am so sorry about the rush out at the end. There was a bit of a double booking. I wanted a moment to take a picture with as many of you as I could, but I hope you all got plenty before, during, and after the show. Please share your pics here or in messenger. I get to see the show from a unique lense and I love glimpses from your point of view.

🤩Thank you thank you all for taking part of our picture day 📷 these last two days. The setup was so great and Mr. Harris was so very efficient in getting us in and out.

I know those shots are going to yield some amazing photos📸, I can hardly wait to see them all.

📌Next week is our last week of classes before the show. Everyone (except Hip Hop classe.) will meet at their same day and time, but we will be at the movie theater instead of the studio.
Thursday is our dress rehearsal (Please bring costumes). Everyone will be in attendance. Our report time is 3:30, but you will have time to get dressed as we set up the stage and take time to make sure our places are correct.
