How our young curators associate an octopus, artificial intelligence and the future thanks to Mert Akbal’s “Künstlische Intelligenz und die intelligente Kunst vom Oktopus”: “What do you think an octopus AI might have in common?” “Octopuses can change and AI can show things really quickly. They can both be clever.” “What does this have to do with the future?” “AI has learnt lots, so it can also put a lot of things into practice and do new things that no human has ever done before.”

‘Wildes Morgen’ is curated by children and young adults. Art mediator Saskia Riedel interviewed the young curators about their selections of artworks.

Pupils from the Eschberg primary school thought about this question and designed posters in workshops with art educator Saskia Riedel. The children's messages can be seen on advertising pillars all over the city. Have you discovered them yet? ✨

✉️ Your Message to the World is a project of the Kulturamt Saarbrücken, represented by the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken and the Schulkultur, the primary school Eschberg and the art mediator Saskia Riedel.

💥Together we looked at sustainability goals and the past exhibition "Our House is on Fire" in the Stadtgalerie and derived themes for the posters.
Afterwards, the children took over their message and the design of the posters themselves, which can now be used by them further, for example at demonstrations!

Many thanks to all those involved for this wonderful collaboration! 🫶

Was ist meine Botschaft an die Welt? 🌎
Schüler*innen der Grundschule Eschberg haben sich Gedanken zu dieser Frage gemacht und in Workshops mit der Kunstvermittlerin Saskia Riedel Plakate gestaltet. Die Botschaften der Kinder sind an den Litfasssäulen überall in der Stadt zu sehen. Habt ihr sie schon entdeckt? ✨

✉️ Deine Botschaft an die Welt ist ein Projekt des Kulturamts Saarbrücken, vertreten durch die Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken und die Schulkultur, der Grundschule Eschberg und der Kunstvermittlerin Saskia Riedel.

💥Gemeinsam haben wir haben uns mit Nachhaltigkeitszielen und der vergangenen Ausstellung "Our House is on Fire" in der Stadtgalerie beschäftigt und daraus Themen für die Plakate abgeleitet.
Die Kinder haben im Anschluss ihre Botschaft und die Gestaltung der Plakate selbstübernommen und können jetzt von ihnen weiter genutzt werden zum Beispiel bei Demos!

Dreams for our future. 🌍💭 together with a sixth grade we thought about dreams for our future. The kids illustrated their dreams as a cloud and installed them in the classroom, hovering from the ceiling. The visitors moved through the installation while hearing the dreams of the kids through speakers.

This project was part of the Kulturwoche at Schule im Rastbachtal

Träume für unserer Zukunft. Zusammen mit einer sechsten Klasse der überlegten wir uns Träume für die Zukunft der Welt. Die Kinder illustrierten ihren persönlichen Traum als Wolke und installierten sie schwebend im Klassenraum. Die Besucher:innen konnten sich durch die Installation bewegen und gleichzeitig die audio Aufnahmen der Träume hören.

Das Projekt war Teil der Kulturwoche an der Schule im Rastbachtal.
