It was a great pleasure to return for the fourth time to Musiktheater Bavaria, where I had the opportunity to give a masterclass and a lecture on the German and European opera business.

Musiktheater Bavaria brings talented young singers from leading American music universities, including Juilliard, to beautiful Southern Germany for an intensive summer program.

It is always inspiring to see how genuinely interested these young US-American singers are in building careers in Europe — and how willing they are to travel across the Atlantic to learn more about the European opera world.

Last week, I had the great pleasure of giving a three-day masterclass at the University of Music Würzburg.

A heartfelt thank you to Kammersänger and Professor of Voice Jochen Kupfer and the University of Music Würzburg for the kind invitation and your trust.

I would also like to thank all 21 talented singing students who took part in this masterclass, the excellent pianist Han-Lin Yun, who accompanied these very intensive days with outstanding musicality and concentration, and of course my beautiful wife Selin and our daughter Charlotte, who joined me on this trip and, as always, were the most wonderful travel companions.
