This quarter, Deann has contributed an incredible 145 hours of service to our military community, consistently showing up with a warm smile, a giving heart, and an unwavering commitment to supporting service members and their families. Her positivity and dedication have made a meaningful impact across both daily operations and large-scale programming at USO Ramstein.
Deann has been a welcoming and comforting presence during Patriot Express flights, helping greet service members and families as they arrive in Germany—many for the very first time. She brings a calm, friendly energy to these moments of transition, offering reassurance and kindness when it is needed most.
Her impact this quarter has been especially evident in her support of major operational efforts, including Operation Epic Fury, where she played a critical role in preparing thousands of sandwiches to ensure deploying troops had access to fresh, nourishing food during their travel. Beyond this large-scale support, Deann is consistently one of the first to step in for behind-the-scenes tasks, helping with cleaning, organizing, stocking, and anything else needed to keep the center running smoothly.
One of Deann’s most meaningful contributions is her generosity beyond the USO walls. During Operation Epic Fury, she took the initiative to engage her local church community, rallying support to collect snacks and drinks for deploying service members. Through her relationships and leadership, she helped expand the level of care and support available to those traveling through Ramstein in a truly impactful way.
She also continues to bring a special personal touch to her service through her passion for baking, often providing homemade treats that offer service members a comforting reminder of home during their travels.
No matter the task—large or small—Deann shows up with reliability, kindness, and a genuine heart for service. Her dedication and spirit of care make a lasting difference for our service members, families, and fellow volunteers every day.
