Gold(en) Leaf 🍂 Calligraphy

“And above every possessor of knowledge is One more knowing.” — Surah Yusuf (12:76)

Knowledge is a beautiful gift, but this verse humbles the heart before it elevates the mind. No matter how much a person learns, discovers, memorizes, or understands, there will always remain another layer unseen, another wisdom unknown, another truth waiting beyond human reach. And above all creation stands Allah — Al-‘Aleem, The All-Knowing.

This ayah teaches that true knowledge is not arrogance, but humility. The more a person truly learns, the softer their ego becomes. Because real understanding makes you realize how vast the ocean of wisdom truly is, and how small we are before it.

People may compete in intelligence, titles, or achievements, but this verse reminds us that human knowledge will always remain limited. What we know today can change tomorrow. What we fail to understand may carry hidden wisdom only Allah sees. Sometimes we question delays, pain, silence, or unanswered prayers, while Allah’s knowledge embraces what our minds cannot yet comprehend.

There is something deeply comforting in that. We do not have to know everything. We are not meant to carry the burden of complete understanding. Some doors remain closed because only Allah knows what is behind them. Some paths unfold slowly because divine wisdom moves with perfect timing.

This verse is also a reminder to stay teachable. Never become too proud to learn, too certain to listen, or too confident to seek truth. Every person may know something you do not. Every experience may carry a lesson. And every piece of knowledge is only a drop from an endless sea granted by Allah.

The beauty of this ayah lies in its balance: seek knowledge endlessly, but never worship your own understanding. Let knowledge bring you closer to humility, gratitude, and awe before the One whose wisdom has no limit.🍂

…and sometimes I think the real blessing is being able to turn feelings, memories and longing into something visible. Some paintings are not created to simply be seen, but to be felt. These pieces may look different, yet to me they belong to the same journey: one holding history and wonder, the other peace and stillness.
