For this year’s euward, we have 3 international filmmakers who are making a great project about our award winners.

We are delighted that Katayoun is supporting us this year with her film project.

Katayoun Arsanjani was born in Tehran in 1977. She studied at art University (Soore) and began her career in IRANIAN cinema as a script supervisor and first assistant director. She has worked with over twenty well-known Iranian directors such as Bahman Farmanara, Masoud Jozani, Ali Rafie, Iraj Karimi, Khosro Masoumi etc, for over eight years.

In 2005, after nearly a decade of work in mainstream cinema, Katayoun decided to pursue her passion in documentary filmmaking. Her main goal was to show the situation of contemporary Iranian youth and the many obstacles which they must overcome. She is a member of the Tehran Documentary Film Directors’ Association and has screened her films at many international film festivals such as YARI, as well as London and Tehran Short Film festivals.

One of our nominees of the euward9, Wulf Golz has an exhibition at the Onomato Künstlerverein Düsseldorf from 09 November until 12 November.

Wulf Golz has been documenting his unfiltered fantasies all his life. Countless detailed maps with invented geography, designed places, built on and animated with hundreds of protagonists from his meticulous script, presented in paintings, stories, notes, statistics, and drawings. According to Adorno "authentic art" - but according to Wulf Golz "life's work". (Source: onomato artists' association)

Exhibition period: 8 to 12 November 2023

Our next nominee:

Belén Sánches, born in Madrid in 1972, has been a member of Studio Debajo del Sombrero since 2008.
Her drawings, collages, sculptures and films focus on her own body, with which she tells stories of aggression and healing. As a performer, she slips into the role of both evil and good.
In doing so, she creates a tense space of action that enables her to both wander through the abysses of violence and always resolve the moral conflicts in a positive way.
