And just like that, The Waste Land has taken its final bow ✨

Over four unforgettable evenings, this production gave us the loveliest audiences, thoughtful conversations, standing ovations, and moments we’ll carry with us for a long time.

To the extraordinary Meta Theater team: Axel, Nicole, Ardhi, Louis, Sebastian and Linda, thank you for your generosity, your artistry, and for trusting Jagriti Theatre with this remarkable production. It has been an absolute privilege to host you 💗

by TS Eliot

Synopsis:
Inspired by T. S. Eliot’s groundbreaking poem The Waste Land, this powerful German production brings the text to life through a striking blend of performance, sound, and visual imagery.

Written in the aftermath of the First World War, The Waste Land reflects a world that feels unsettled and empty. The poem moves through a series of voices and images that capture this sense of uncertainty, revealing both the disorientation of the time and its emotional undercurrents.

At the centre of the performance is a solitary actor who moves through these shifting voices, accompanied by a live, evolving soundscape. Using simple materials like steel and plaster, the stage becomes an active space.

This production offers a distinct interpretation of the poem; through layers, changing perspectives, and moments that allow for personal interpretation.
