The days are stretching longer, windows stay open later, and summer slowly begins to settle into the city. For this June edition of Electronic Gateaways, we’re very happy to welcome .of to the studio.

Arwed’s connection to Marburg runs deep. From open airs on the Lahnberge to long nights at Café Trauma and years of DIY spaces, collective moments and musical experiments, the city became an important part of his understanding of club culture: open, political, curious and community-driven. Through his series Basic.Needs, he helped create spaces where different sounds and scenes could meet naturally.

Musically, Arwed moves between progressive structures, trance-infused rhythms and dubbier textures, letting atmosphere unfold slowly rather than chasing peak-time routines. His sound draws equally from influential labels like Cocoon or Watergate and the more eccentric corners of the Rhein-Main underground — Pressure Traxx, Freebase, raum…musik or Running Back — always guided by a deep love for vinyl and carefully evolving selection.

A perfect soundtrack for long evenings and drifting conversations.

Selecting records between Stuttgart and Frankfurt, user.selections builds on authentic sounds and a wide-ranging musical perspective. Moving through electro and house: from timeless cuts to more recent releases. The approach is guided by a deep sense of connection, linking mind and music.

The circle opens once more.

In 10 days we gather again at Baaribar, welcoming a collective close to us: . A project based in Frankfurt yet shaped by many places, stories, and encounters — carrying the idea that music is not just played, but lived together.

Like its name suggests, El Patio moves with the feeling of an open courtyard: a place where people meet without rush, where conversations and grooves unfold naturally, and where everyone is invited to feel at home.

For this night, their three residents , .ic , and join us, bringing their shared vision and individual voices into one extended journey — guided by deep listening, trust, and the kind of rhythms that slowly draw people together on the floor.

Holding the space from our side, Q’uwa and San.Br will guide the opening and closing of the night, shaping the path for another Freiquenz gathering.

As winter slowly begins to loosen its grip, Electronic Gateways welcomes Call and Response, a Kassel-based label and event series devoted to a special niche within house and techno culture.

Rooted in Kassel’s local scene yet reaching far beyond it, the collective focuses on forgotten gems from the early days of electronic club music — sounds that shaped dance floors long before trends and algorithms. Through carefully curated settings, Call and Response treats music not as background, but as dialogue: between past and present, local and international, artist and listener.

More than just events, the project understands electronic music as a cultural platform grounded in diversity, exchange, and community. In conscious contrast to purely commercial formats, Call and Response emphasizes artistic intention, thoughtful curation, and the creation of sustainable spaces that strengthen regional scenes while fostering international connection.
