This week, we were thrilled to welcome and Gerry Hemingway as special guests for the next Gutenberg Jazz Collective residency AND for a workshop on free improvisation at Jazz Campus Mainz 🔥🔥🔥.

The inspiring session was truly unforgettable. We're grateful for the experience and thank them for their time!

Throwback!! Vor etwas mehr als einer Woche fand (am 01.03) unser erster Jazz-Intensiv-Workshop statt.

Studieninteressierte konnten sich vor Ort die Hochschule anschauen, an Workshops und Ensembles teilnehmen und Einblicke in Jazz-Musiktheorie erhalten.
Danke an alle die gekommen sind und den Tag besonders gemacht haben!

RECAP-TIME!

Today, we´re happy to look back at last semesters SWR Jazz Collective which took place on the 11.12.2025 at the school of music in Stuttgart!
It was an thrilling and inspiring evening with three incredible bands (last slide):

- TukTuk (Mainz, bottom left)
- Nebula Quartett (Mannheim, bottom right)
- yoshi Tschira Large Esemble (Stuttgart, top)

We are already looking forward to next semesters SWR Jazz Collective taking place in Mannheim! A big thank you to all of the bands! 🔥🎶

After the first week of getting together and rehearsing, the new Gutenberg Jazz Collective performed their first concert yesterday! 🔥🔥
It was a truly special and inspiring evening full of emotion and connection and we already look forward to the next residency with Terence Blanchard. More TBA soon!

We have a new Gutenberg Jazz Collective! 🎶

After two inspiring days of auditions with outstanding applicants and fantastic musical contributions, our international jury (slide 2) has selected the lineup for the Gutenberg Jazz Collective 2025 (slide 1):

🎤 Līva Dumpe – vocals (Latvia)
🎷 Coleman Rose – saxophone (USA)
🎹 Leandro Hernandez-Waber – piano (Germany)
🎸 Kertu Aer – bass (Estonia)
🥁 Kabelo Mokhatla – drums (South Africa)

We’re truly looking forward to the upcoming residencies and concerts. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who applied and shared their music with us this year! 🙏
