The idea of founding his own opera company came mainly from the 39 year long lasting friendship between Michael Vaccaro, the owner and director of Opera Classica Europa, and the world famous opera singer Licia Albanese. Through this great artist Michael Vaccaro met many great opera singers of the "Golden Age of Opera", including Stella Roman. Very often these stars told about their experiences at the 'Met' and gave insights, which remained in the memory of the young tenor. As a vocal student of Madame Albanese between the years (1977-1982), Michael Vaccaro had several occasions to perform in concerts with the world-famous soprano. Michael Vaccaro also had the great fortune of hearing live opera stars such as Maria Callas, Giuseppe di Stefano, Renata Tebaldi, Leontyne Price or Franco Corelli. It was these experiences in particular that sparked a "passion for the opera", which has remained unbroken until today.
