Telefono senza fili
is open today from 14 - 18h,
next sat as well 

The finissage is on sunday 04.05. from 16 to 20h 

In case you wonder, what this exhibition is about, here we go:

Telefono senza fili/Stille Post meaning "telephone without wires," evokes the children's game where messages usually get distorted or even lost on the way, prompting new unexpected meanings to emerge. This metaphor becomes the exhibition's central theme, with artists exploring the breakdown and transformation of communication to stimulate broader collective interaction.

The participating artists, six studied in Venice and six in Leipzig, combine their diverse backgrounds, confronting their individual and intertwining interpretations of how games and play function in both personal and broader societal contexts. Games can be a form of escape, a way to reimagine and reconstruct the world, but they can also serve as a way to critique power structures and explore themes of competition, cooperation, and the collective memory of history. The exhibition cleverly weaves these disparate perspectives, reflecting on how art dwells within geopolitical peculiarities—marked by disinformation, division, and complex international relations—transcending our shared global and private personal experiences.

At its core, Telefono senza fili conveys a subtle yet resilient sense of hope, where the exact moments of possible conflict or misunderstanding fuel new meanings and unexpected dialogues. Whether through paintings, installations, sculptures, or multimedia works, the artists engage with a visual language that questions the realm of games as a self-reflective, ever-evolving practice, expanding our ways of thinking, acting, and connecting with serious global issues. 

Ultimately, the exhibition invites reflection on how play and imagination can transcend borders, offering possibilities for collaboration in even the most challenging times.

"together" is a work produced with technical help of Finn, Christoph, Elis and a CNC milling mashine for last year's
exhibition "Where I want to be today".
It's an enlarged copy of a wooden toy from the house I grew up in, connected to many emotions and memories. 
It's made from poplar (Pappel) and you can sit on it quite comfortably.
