That taste on the tongue that reminds us of something very specific, that smell that we can't get out of our noses, that melody that plays in our ears and makes us think back, that object that we find by chance and brings back old memories. You know those moments when you get an inkling of something from the past, sometimes so vivid that you seemingly only have to reach for it to make it come true again, something that sometimes comes to us willingly, sometimes against our will. But it is precisely in doing this that we become aware of the distance between the present and the past.

Dieser Geschmack auf der Zunge, der uns an etwas ganz Bestimmtes erinnert, dieser Geruch, der uns nicht mehr aus der Nase gehen will, diese Melodie die sich ins Ohr spielt und uns zurückdenken lässt, dieser Gegenstand, den man zufällig findet und alte Erinnerungen weckt. Man kennt diese Momente, in denen man eine Ahnung von etwas Vergangenen bekommt, manchmal so plastisch, dass man scheinbar nur danach greifen müsste, um wieder wahr werden zu lassen, was sich uns mal willkommen, mal gegen unseren Willen aufdrängt. Bloß werden wir uns genau in diesem Tun der Distanz zwischen dem Jetzt und dem Vergangenen erst recht bewusst.
