A new life and A new beginning!
In Celebration of the birth of my daughter I have made a sculpture in her name. Brigitte Jaguar Jane. A small bronze made from Uruguayan Driftwood that came from all corners of The Atlantic Ocean landing on the shores of Montevideo where I collected the essential pieces on the morning beach walks in in the days leading up to her birth on February 5 2026.

Presented at the Kunstrai, at Galerie Helga Hofman, Booth 37

Hope to see you there to celebrate life!

The sculpture Terpsichore is part of the installation Birth of Apollo, of which Apollo is now on view at Voorhout Monumentaal 2025 until August 18. My process begins with research and material exploration, allowing intuitive creation. The dialogue between materials and form leads the way. Terpsichore is a small bronze, directly cast from the original study model, in an edition of three—this is one of them. The full installation has been previously presented at Artzuid 2019, Anningahof 2020-21 and Brussels sculpture Biennial 2022

I want to share with you this sculpture and the process of which I created a series of bronzes from, the small bronzes are as intuitive as it gets, directly casted from the study model. the small bronze Terpischore, from Birth of Apollo is a direct cast from the model, And is casted in an edition of 3, of which only number 3/3 is left . .

Monument for the Future. “Sketch model” bronze on Travertine block (25 x 25 x 15 cm) Edition of 8. . This work was the study scale for the large work that is now presented on . Monument for the Future is a life-sized bronze sculpture capturing a pivotal moment: a figure in mid-step, leaving behind the “stone of the past” and striding into the unknown. One foot is anchored in a solid base.

Coming tuesday is the opening of ArtZuid 2025 | Proud to be part of it again this year! . The 9th edition of ARTZUID will take place from 21 May to 21 September 2025. The Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale.

My new work named ‘Monument for the Future’ will be on view at Apollolaan/Beethovenstraat . A sculptural monument traditionally serves to commemorate a fixed moment, person, or ideal from the past— anchoring memory in form, permanence, and stillness. Its static, unmoving presence conveys stability, reverence, and timeless authority. In contrast, Monument for the Future breaks this tradition by depicting a figure midstep, leaving the pedestal—symbolizing motion, uncertainty, and becoming. Rather than enshrining what was, it gestures toward what could be, dedicating the monument not to memory, but to.possibility. The material choices and structural buildup are going further into detail of the story, to be continued…. looking very much forward to Tuesday!
