We proudly present our sixth podcast created by Aletta. Aletta is a DJ team formed by friends Niek van Reijn, Gydo van der Vooren and Arjun Samadhan.
Formerly known as P.A.X. DJ. Their new name refers to the place (Aletta Jacobsplantsoen) where their friendship is forged, future plans were made and where it all began. With their funky melodic and groovy techno sets they will make you want to dance on the spot. As residents of PAX-ROMANA they have established themselves in the Amsterdam and Dutch underground techno scene. And they are just getting started.

“We get inspired by many artists from so many genres. We are always trying to explore and merge a wide variety of sounds in our sets. We also want to create the feeling of playfulness, full of twist and turns and pleasant surprises.”

Track 1: 13:00 Jon Hester – Blinker
Simply a huge S/O 2 Jon Hester, incredible productions! The track has a kind of trippy feeling to it, just how we like it.

Track 2: 21:00 Amotik – Adasth
After some breakbeats we continue with a powerful 4x4 kick. Enough to feel new energy coming into the set. Also not too overwhelming, so there is room for the perception and imagination of the listener.

Track 3: 46:00 Rask – Feels Like Forever
The vocal of the track brings up a certain melancholic feeling, which we love.

A little throwback today! Edoh] was the first raver/dj/producer we interviewed for HEDON sonance back in 2019. Time flies! We kept in contact ever since and you can expect more to come from Edoh. 💫

“The rhythm makes you dance instantly. And its repetitive structure can cause a trance-like state. It really opened my mind. It’s a different world, a different universe. I feel connected with the people around me, even when we don’t talk. It also reflects my personality perfectly. I can be explosive but also quiet. You find these two opposites in techno as well.
The best experience I had is when I moved to Berlin. In Berghain. Because of the length of the DJ-sets you forget everything, and you get a very special connection with the DJ. You are in the same space for so long, it’s like a tunnel. Another beautiful memory was last summer at .festival : I will never forget the feeling of togetherness with all those beautiful souls. In the end we are all different but that doesn’t matter. On a party we are together. I met so many amazing people where I have a very deep connection with, also outside the dancefloor.
Seven years ago, I started DJ-ing in my hometown Brussel. But I was missing something: my own input. I was always fascinated by sound, so I decided to start producing my own tracks. It’s therapy as well. I can use all my emotions in my music. That’s what I love most about techno: for a moment I can let go of all my worries and ascend into a different world.”

“The first time I stumbled upon techno I was a teenager in Italy. We had only one club in my town and since it was the only place you could go to every Saturday, I encountered techno there. I must say it was a very different type of techno, bubblier and more Mediterranean, definitely with an Italian kick.
Techno excites me, every beat and bass. It makes my brain go fast and raises my mood and aura every day. It matches with my darkness and depth. Moreover, I love getting acquainted with new DJs, listening to hours of mixes.
Going to techno parties has given me a sense of belonging, a safe place, freedom of expression with people who share the same love for this music. It’s my arena for trying to push my personal boundaries, with others but mainly with myself.
Dealing with the lockdown is not easy at all. I can’t wait to reunite with ravers on the dance floor, this cannot go on forever. Now I put on my headphones with my favorite mixes and dance in my bedroom until I am too tired.
When the gates will open again, we will probably be wild animals, so be careful we might have too much energy accumulated over this time. But jokes aside, I think it definitely made us all realize that sometimes we didn’t value the freedom of being able to dance so close to each other, and now luckily, we will value such thing even more.”

Max Rfr is on a mission to get people dancing and takes them on a personal journey through the landscape of his music and depth of his sound.
Max Rfr is a DJ, producer and organizer based in Tilburg and known for his deep, dynamic, hypnotic, and firm sound but always with a groovy element. He doesn’t shy away when it
comes to experimenting with styles and music. He always thrives to tell his own authentic story through his music and takes the crowd on a journey. Almost like he is having a conversation with the crowd. You need to be there from start to finish to understand and
experience what he is saying.
Production wise, Max Rfr has released his first track ‘Overwatch’ in 2021 followed by ‘Asura’ on .missie Various Artists I. In the same year he recorded a podcast for Dutch
underground organization and a year after for Club Basis Utrecht. This last one
resembles his current style the most. He played at parties like De Missie in Eindhoven and Eindstation in Utrecht, to name a few.
In 2020 he co-founded Eindstation in Utrecht, where he is also a resident. They want to go back to the essence and intimacy of the techno and club culture. They believe the underground is where the soul of the scene resides. They held their first legal party at the
Helling Utrecht in 2022.
Although his love for techno music is still young, his passion for the genre is deep.
