Artists of the Future⁠—a youth-focused community arts platform developed by Therme Art⁠—has recently unveiled a vibrant public art installation at the future Therme Manchester site, the UK’s first urban wellbeing resort at TraffordCity, set to open in late 2028.

Launched in partnership with Therme Manchester and Gorse Hill Studios, the project invited young people across Salford and Trafford to respond to themes at the heart of Therme’s global ethos⁠—nature, water, fun, and wellbeing⁠—through drawing workshops and a competition. The 22 winning artworks now transform the construction hoardings at the future Therme Manchester site into a vibrant celebration of local creativity, with one winner also receiving a family trip to Therme Bucharest.

The second part of our ‘Learning from Artists’ series explores sensory art practices that shift from human-centred to more-than-human perspectives. Highlighting works of the Art Senses open call applicants who earned special recognition, we look at how sensory experiences can cultivate new ways of relating to diverse living forms and invisible, life-sustaining ecological systems.

Works by Yussef Agbo-Ola, Jamie Pazmiño, Mia Milgrom, Cadine Navarro and Timo Kahlen invite us to listen more carefully, to slow down, and to attend to invisible or neglected relationships within living networks of mutual dependence.
