Dear Binghis,

As a finale to our exhibition, we're thrilled to present two interactive workshops:

🌿 "Bodylandscapes" with Kuem-Song: A poetic exploration of our bodies, blending methods from Sexological Bodywork. Join us for a short intro by the artist from 11 am - 1 pm.

🎨 Kids Workshop (ages 5-9) with Ariel Orah (of Soydivison): "SUARANAK" at 3 pm.

End the day with an exclusive bilingual tour (English and German in parallel) at 6 pm.

Limited spots are available for all three events.

Please RSVP at [email protected] with your name and chosen event(s).

Meet our Facilitators:

⭐️ Kuem (they/he), trans*masc PoC, is a trained Sexological Bodyworker and Cranio-Sakral therapist who accompanies clients discovering their body and sensuality in one on one sessions as well as body centered workshops. Paramount for Kuem are curiosity, openness and commitment to the process. He is especially interested in trans*/q***r /BIPoC communities. Kuem wants to initiate playful encounters with oneself.

"Once you start approaching your body with curiosity rather than with fear, everything
shifts." - Bessel van der Kolk

⭐️ Ariel William Orah is a Berlin-based Indonesian artist, community catalysator, and cultural practitioner. He was born in Bandung, Indonesia, and has been living and working in Berlin, Germany, since 2012. His main practices focus on diasporic socially engaged art creation, and his research interests include social and climate injustice, as well as the trilogy of identity, memory, and scarcity. Orah’s artistic practice stems from his unique educational background in economics, sustainability, and empathy experience design, complemented by his personal journey as an Indonesian diaspora living in Germany.

DISCOURSE AND PERFORMANCE PROGRAM AT HAU HEBBEL AM UFER (24.11.-26.11.2023)

Dear Binghis,

We are happy to present to you the program of the third day of our project "The Roots of Our Hands, Deep as Revolt", a discourse and performance program at HAU Hebbel am Ufer ( ) on November 26th 2023.

“The Resiliency Garden is a reimagining of space and an example of what can happen when Black people take control of space and regenerate it as a catalyst for freedom, healing, and liberation. The space lives at the intersection of food, climate, and racial justice and is an homage to a future that serves us all, not just a select few.” – Duron Chavis (urban farmer, educator, change maker)

Day 3 of the programme highlights Black ecological imaginaries and the pivotal role of Black communities in different parts of the world in the fight for radical ecological justice. The invited guests will explore the intersection of racial and environmental justice, the significance of agriculture in decolonial struggles, and the power of new environmental imaginaries.

DISCOURSE AND PERFORMANCE PROGRAM AT HAU HEBBEL AM UFER (25.11.2023)

Dear Binghis,

We are happy to present to you the program of the second day of our project "The Roots of Our Hands, Deep as Revolt", a discourse and performance program at HAU Hebbel am Ufer ( ) on November 25th 2023.

“In order to think through a cartography of Black ecologies, it is necessary to remember that the relationship between Black subjectivity and the more-than-human remains contested. It is fraught with histories of colonial violence, with increasingly harsh climates, and with the haunting of dispossessed lands, lives, and lifeways; the rituals through which we lived, loved, killed, ate, decomposed, and dreamed together.” – Ama Josephine Budge (speculative writer, artist, curator and pleasure activist)

The second day of the programme, titled “What the Land Remembers: Racism and Environmental Injustice”, explores the imperial durabilities of the human-nature relationship, particularly regarding land. The panel and performances explore how colonialism and racism continue to shape nature conservation, toxic landscapes and climate change to this day.

15:30-18:00
“After The Company” – film programme by Lisabona Rahman and Ragil Huda

19:00-20:45
Panel with Zina Saro-Wiwa, Peter Emorinken-Donatus and Imeh Ituen, moderation: Aouefa Amoussouvi

Tickets can be bought on the HAU website. Detailed program in link in the bio!

We are looking forward to welcoming you.

Jahrhunderts in Deutschland praktiziert.

Liebe Binghis,

wir freuen uns, das zweite Kapitel unseres Projekts "The Roots Of Our Hands Deep As Revolt: Entangled Colonialities of the Green", vom 18.11.2023 - 14.01.2024 im Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien präsentieren zu dürfen.
