Light Resonances inaugurates the hybrid series NAIA (Naturally Artificial Intelligence Art)) Show+Tell Program 2026: responding to the growing interest in natural intelligence in the era of AI, and the urgent need to protect art–science dialogue with our communities through immersive ecological art, as climate attention once again fades from political agendas.

Taking place on Thursday, December 4, at 19.00, the first NAIA Show+Tell: Light Resonances program (for both onsite and online audiences) begins with a 30-minute hybrid format of 3 Pecha-Kucha presentations sharing the perspectives of an artist, a curator, and a researcher:

curator Daria Mille (onsite) will speak on her co-curated AR showcase at Smart Picnic: Sensing the City during the opening of the Gwangju Miro Center, Korea;

artist and researcher Rasa Smite (onsite) will present “Light Resonances”: based on plant light sensing, spectral scanning, and data analyses in collaboration with scientists from the Helmholtz Institute in Munich, which we turned into sonic experiences by Krista Dintere and Raitis Smits (joining online);

and artist and filmmaker Felipe Castelblanco (online) will present multispectral camera use, exploring the Peruvian Amazon at night, including his film “Borrachero Dreams”.

It is followed by an onsite SensUs XR Showcase, where immersive ecological artworks are experienced on VR headsets and iPads. The showcase features Light Resonances, Augmented Reality artwork, and Solarceptors (2025), Virtual Reality artwork by artist duo Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits, alongside Isabella Münnich and Anna Manankina, who, together with other invited young artists, explored the SensUs Augmented Reality platform through curated residencies this summer — turning augmented experience into a shared vision of ‘symbiotic futures’.

The exhibition Phyto-Travellers by -Maria Lopez is extended until 1 February 2026, at ZKM - Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe.
Eva-Maria Lopez, an artist living in Karlsruhe and Paris, has designed PHYTO-TRAVELLERS, a new installation for the ZKM | Kubus Subraum that deals with the migration history of neophytes: plants that were imported from other regions of the world and culturally appropriated in the course of colonial expansion and botanical exploration. She is creating a sprawling garden in the shape of Christopher Columbus' ship, Nina, which serves as a living archive that brings to life the close intertwining of natural and cultural history.
Eva-Maria Lopez is a co-founder of NAIA Natural Artificial Intelligence Art.
