Thank you, Thomas Hampson - Opening of our Liedfestival ✨

The opening of our Liedfestival was not only a celebration of song, but also of 20 years of Thomas Hampson work in Heidelberg.

It startet with a wonderful rendition of Mahler’s iconic Des Knaben Wunderhorn by Thomas Hampson together with his long-term musical partner Wolfram Rieger - full of profound humanity.

In the second half, alumni of the Liedakademie took the stage. With personal words and songs they paid tribute to their mentor who has shaped their and many other artistic careers at Heidelberger Frühling over the last two decades. 🌱

What a moving start to the festival. Thank you to all involved! 💙

➡️ Curious for a glimpse behind the scenes of Thomas Hampson’s work and the development of young artists in Heidelberg? Catch the public masterclasses of the Liedakademie.

🗓️ Wednesday through Friday, also available via livestream.
