Warum der Törn-Cup – unsere monatliche Impro Show – funktioniert, wie er funktioniert:
das Maestro-Format nach Keith Johnstone. 🎭
Das Format selbst erzeugt die Augenhöhe – Anfänger:innen und Profis stehen zusammen auf der Bühne, gemeinsam entstehen die Szenen.
Das ist die Grundlage für unsere Vision, bei Törn Improspieler:innen zusammenzubringen.

Ein Missverständnis, das wir gerne aufklären: Beim TÖRN Cup stimmt das Publikum nicht über die Spielenden ab – sondern über die Szenen. 🎭

Es geht nicht darum, wer gewinnt.
Es geht darum, welche Szene am meisten berührt, überrascht oder zum Lachen bringt.
So bleibt der Wettbewerb spielerisch – nicht gegeneinander, sondern miteinander.

A common misunderstanding, cleared up: at Törn Cup, the audience doesn’t vote on the players — they vote on the scenes. 🎭
It’s not about who wins. It’s about which scene moved, surprised, or made you laugh the most.
That keeps the competition playful — not against each other, but together.

🔥Today we're introducing you to our third festival workshop, with Nadine Antler, from Germany.

🎭 "Deine unbekannte Seite – CONNECT TO YOURSELF" 🃏
This course is taught in German. Therefore, the description is also in German.

Für uns alle gibt es Figuren, zu denen wir leicht Zugang finden: Wir kennen vielleicht unsere mütterliche oder kindliche Seite gut, den aktiven Helden in uns oder können uns einfach in die personifizierte Unschuld einfühlen. Und gleichzeitig gibt es Figuren, die uns schwer fallen, glaubhaft zu spielen, ohne sie zu Überzeichnungen werden zu lassen. Vielleicht hadert die eine mit dem dumpfen, mobbenden Fiesling und der andere mit der manipulativen Versuchung? Wie bringen wir diese als starke Figuren auf die Bühne, die interessant und lebendig sind? Wir können wir diese über einen gesamte Abend immer wieder zum Leben erwecken? Und was bedeutet das für unser Storytelling, wenn wir die Szenen komplett über starke Figuren spielen?

Lovely crowd, today we'd like to introduce you to the next wonderful workshop at the TÖRN festival.

Musicology – CONNECT TO THE MUSIC 🎶
with Morgan Mansouri from france.

In this WS, participants will learn to deeply connect with music and explore the impact of rhythm on their acting. Without focusing on words, this workshop will emphasize listening and presence. Actors and actresses will be invited to feel the tempo of scenes, play with musical variations, and discover how rhythm can support or transform an emotion or interaction. It’s an experience where theatrical and musical improvisation meet, where every note and every silence becomes an inspiration. Participants will leave with a new sensitivity to the musicality of the stage and the ability to create powerful improvisational moments without the need for words.

Bookings are coming in fast, and two of our workshops are already almost fully booked! We’re so happy about that! That said, we’d like to briefly introduce you to our wonderful WS.
Let’s start with the workshops led by the amazing Ali from canada:

🔥The Art of Audience Care – CONNECT TO THE AUDIENCE 🤓

This workshop is designed for performers who aspire to transform interactions with their audience into unforgettable theatrical experiences. We focus on the art of engaging directly with the audience to gain personal stories over simple suggestions. Through this approach, performers learn to create a charming and meaningful connection, making each performance uniquely resonant with the audience.

This workshop will be taught in English and is for performers with at least six years of improv experience who regularly perform on stage.

We just opened registrations for our upcoming Törn-Festival in Hamburg, which will take place from March, 11th till 14th, 2027!
Our festival theme will be “Connect!“

We seem to be more connected than ever before, but we feel that genuine connection is becoming a rare commodity. We exchange messages and collect contacts—and yet a sense of distance often remains. Connecting means more than just being reachable. It means truly revealing ourselves, really listening, and letting us be seen – even with our differences. When we truly connect with others, we open ourselves up. It takes courage, because vulnerability is part of the process.

In our art form we have a clear focus on connection. At TÖRN 2027 we would like to take this to a deeper level: What does it really mean to listen to each other, to listen to our environment, to the audience, to ourselves – to this unique moment?
