I read an article about Sanna Marin written by a woman. The headline reads "Cry quietly, party Sanna!" I could throw up, but then I drew this picture instead. It's okay to cry for all human beings. These are hard times, we face the climate crisis and after 2 years of a pandemic there is war in Europe. All of us experience these circumstances differently and from another point of view, but I can imagine that the sum of it all is also hard for a prime minister. Crying it all out is a tool of processing it and it can help us on the way. Judging really doesn’t help. Even politicians and journalists are allowed to cry, I would actually recommend that to said journalist, just cry, as loud as you want, try balling your eyes out for god’s sake. But stop this bashing, it doesn't suit you.
And no, crying in public as a female politician doesn’t prove that old white men are right by thinking females are not tough enough for office. I believe we have to change the narrative. Sanna Marin cries in public, she is a human being with emotions and still can handle her job professionally.

New Posters at ESTIE’S! Open Studio Hours: wed-fri/3-6pm
I had no clue how much we would need peace when I chose these ginkgo leaves for March in my birthday calendar. The ginkgo has a long history of being used as a symbol of peace, hope and vitality and also as a symbol of love and duality.
It chokes my throat and weighs heavy on my heart that at this very moment the Ukrainians , foremost civilians have no other option but to fight for freedom in their country and also for our freedom, our values and peace in the whole of Europe.
I am beyond grateful and humble regarding the courage of the Ukrainian people, and so sad for every lost life on either side of this war. May the Russian People find a way to lay down their weapons and to refuse to fight.
So this is my full package of this year‘s . If you now think, that’s too obvious, coming out shortly before - you can be assured that they work exactly every day of the year! ❤️🌈☀️
And by „work“ I mean they can make your favorite person smile (that also depends on what you write on the other side of the card but I’m sure that your own words only make the smile bigger and brighter).

To me, this winter seems to be longer than any winter before… might be the never ending pandemic and the mood it creates, which matches perfectly with the grey and the damp cold of these days… but during my long walks through nature -and not on the streets, I like to point out- I find more and more messengers of spring… nature is preparing for a fulminant opening of the next chapter and whilst that we got to keep practicing patience, I guess… we got this, everything will be so much brighter in - after all- no time… hugs and love to all who need them🤗☀️❤️🍄🌺🌈🌤😘

Ich liebe Bäume, lange Waldspaziergänge haben es mir angetan! Was für ein Glück, dass der Stadtpark in der unmittelbaren Nähe ist! Und das Eppendorfer Moor, die Alster, und der Weg zum Niendorfer Gehege ist auch wunderschön! Ich gehöre in die Stadt, aber ich bin auch unendlich dankbar, wieviel Natur Hamburg zu bieten hat!

Ich verrate in diesem Fall glaube ich nicht zu viel, wenn ich unten stehende Frage beantworte: Ja, ich sollte es.
Und ich habe es gemacht. Und nein, seitdem ist nicht alles Friede, Freude, Eierkuchen. Und ganz genau alles, wovor ich jahrelang Angst hatte, ist jetzt eingetreten. Und damit lerne ich umzugehen. Das tut gleichzeitig weh und ist herausfordernd und erfüllt mich, gibt mir eine tiefe Ruhe und Freude und ist eine nie dagewesene Chance für mich zu wachsen.
Ich glaube das ist der Dreh- und Angelpunkt: wenn wir tun, was wir lieben, meistern wir auch die Herausforderungen, die damit einhergehen. Einfach weil das Warum beantwortet ist.
Und wenn Du irgendwo in Dir eine leise Stimme hörst, die fragt: „ob ich wohl ### machen sollte?“, sag‘ ich Dir: Frag Dich lieber „Wie?“ und fang im Zweifel einfach an.
Das ergibt sich alles. Und Du kannst das.

Yay, ein wunderbarer Auftrag ist abgeschlossen! Gerade habe ich Hochzeitseinladungen für eine Oktober-Hochzeit, die in der Heide stattfinden soll, fertig bekommen und mir ist aufgefallen, wie schön sie mit meinen neuesten Kerzenständern harmonieren. Die Kerzenständer sind nun auch wirklich fertig durchgetrocknet und je nach Größe ab 9,90€ zu haben. Schaut gern mal bei mir im ESTIE‘S vorbei! Heute bin ich noch bis 18 Uhr hier!

Ich kann gar nicht sagen, wie froh es mich macht, dass das ESTIE’S endlich wieder geöffnet sein darf!
Es gibt viel Neues: Bilder, Postkarten und komplett unpassend zur Jahreszeit habe ich mit Beton gespielt und es sind schöne Kerzenständer herausgekommen!

When I am painting, I listen to music. That’s kind of a law. And while I often find my inspiration in nature, during conversations and in exploring emotions, music has the ability to create wonderful pictures in my head. When I heard this song „Pechmarie“ by for the first time, I instantly fell in love and knew I had to paint this Mary as the swan, peacock, angel-a-like-being, that Mary as a young mother has no chance to see inside herself. My children are nearly 9 and twelve years by now, but I still can remember how I felt as a young and sometimes overwhelmed mom and that dancing always was a good idea to make me feel better. I love this song, as it is so self-ironic, comforting and kicks you in the ass to get up, take time for yourself and just dance it all away! My Mary made it, and she‘s a fighter. Not only for her children, but also for herself. So, a happy & wonderful Mother’s Day to all of you rocking-it-all-moms & also a great day to all of you who aren’t moms, you are wonderful!!! I know that life can suck you in, no matter if you have kids or not and in every case taking good care of ourselves, remembering how gorgeous we are and dancing is a good idea. Hugs and kisses and love for all of you!!!

To me it’s a never ending, always exciting and often surprising exploration to see how we are different and then again all the same. This topic always has the ability to blow my mind away and I wanted to work on this for a long time now and this is what came out of it. It can be hard to realize that our patterns of behavior that feel so normal and natural to us can seem odd or worse to another person- and the other way round, too. Noticing this, in my experience is just the first step of o journey to opening our minds, trying to understand each other and through this, to grow. It can be joyful and enriching when we try not to fight our differences, but trying to understand them and surprisingly to find similarities on the way. A recurring element I am exploring in my works can also be found in this one: boundaries. What effect has our ability to distance ourselves from others? When is it important to protect our vulnerability and when is it safe to open up?Getting to know each other deserves our openness which makes us vulnerable at the same time. And then again, some of us have to learn to open up and some have to learn to better protect their boundaries.

In this work you can see both the similarities and the differences. Where is your focus? I feel we need to be brave enough to find our similarities , to accept our differences and to learn from them. ‘Cause in the end, .

at ESTIE’S! I can’t wait to open my doors for you again - but who knows when that might be... there is so much we don’t know right now and I totally get that this can be annoying, unsettling and scaring from time to time. Sometimes it can help to focus on what we do know and what we can do to feel better in this moment! As life proceeds in waves we know that there are better and worse times ahead. Let’s be grateful for the good things in our life’s and begin to look forward to better times!

😏 this is for all the impatient souls, mine totally included. It takes time to do great things. Sooooo many small things are needed to get the big whole great thing done. But I truly believe we all can make it!!! How do you work with your impatience? Any ideas?
In Germany we have this saying ' Der Weg ist das Ziel ' which means the way is the goal. For me, it helps sometimes when my impatience gets too loud and then I try to focus on what I really love about being at exactly this point...
And never forget or always remember how far you have come!!! Be proud of yourself!!! 😍
and when you are looking at one ore more chapters you just can't be proud of- start forgiving yourself. You deserve forgiveness and to be loved unconditionally. Close the old chapter. Let go of what makes you feel bad about it. Start a fresh one.

There are no such things like being too old or too young, or too busy to do what you really love or to be who you really want to be. You decide. Like every day. Set your priorities. To do more of what you love changes your life. It may change your life dramatically. It makes you happier and more satisfied. This life isn't meant to be full of stress and struggles. And again it's you who decides to give stress and struggles space in your life. But you deserve so much more and better, you beautiful soul! I hope that we all can open up to being the person we really are, who we really want to be! I send so much love your way, have an amazing weekend!!!
