Cellos, accordions, saxophones, electronics and visual arts coming together on the upcoming Wednesday for a two act evening at Hörbar 📢

➫ For this concert at Hörbar, Carmen Kleykens Vidal (multimedia artist and improvising cellist, Hamburg), Alicia Reyes (composer and electronic performer, Ghent), and Juanfran Cabrera (visual artist and improviser) form a trio for free improvisation. Together, they explore real-time listening and interaction, blending acoustic instruments with live electronics.

➫ Simon Rose (UK/DE) is a musician-composer, researcher and writer. As a baritone saxophonist his main interest in open improvisation he appears on over forty music releases and has performed regularly as a soloist and in numerous collaborations in Europe and North America. He also frequently performs in interdisciplinary settings with dancers, visual artists and others. He holds a PhD from Glasgow Caledonian University and has authored two books: ‘The lived experience of improvisation: in music, learning and life’ (2017) and ‘Relational Improvisation: Music, Dance and Contemporary Art’ (2024).

➫ Goran Lazarević is a Serbian accordionist and composer based in Hamburg. After graduating in classical accordion in Serbia, His artistic interests include live electronics, microtonal music, free improvisation, computer music, and brain–computer musical interfaces (BCMI).

A great audio-visual artist we have in this program is Dennis Scheiba.

Dennis Scheiba is an audio-visual artist who is interested in critical reflection of technology and its political implications upon society and tries to create new technologies which enable a broader and distributed audience. In his work “Rotating: Perspectives” (2026), rotation allows us to adopt a new angle on an existing perspective. Even if an invariance to the observed object may eventually re-establish itself, something happens in the meantime through our movement that shapes our perception.

Sasha Iliashenko is an artist and musician working with sound, moving-image and performance. Their music is caricatural and restless, tapping greatly into the physicality of sound in space, repetition and microtonality. Sasha’s sounds draw from a range of club musics like gabber and footwork, complemented by a variety of non-western tonal and rhythmic practices. “Easy Ease” is Sasha Iliashenko’s recent body of work building on the metaphor of interpolation as a multitude of possible transitions between two points.

We are excited to have Jasmine Guffond in our program tomorrow.

Jasmine Guffond is an artist, composer and musician investigating the intersection of sound, technology and political infrastructures through live performance, recording and installation. Her live performances encourage deep, embodied listening, exploring sound as a physical force – felt through low-end frequencies and extreme dynamics that range from barely audible, to moments of intense volume. Her primary instrument is a laptop computer in conjunction with midi controllers, MaxMSP and Ableton Live.
