Sketches, ideas, and first outlines for the first Birdstations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Together with the Goethe-Institut Vietnam and Thinking Playgrounds (TPG) we’re building public Stations for birdwatching -hearing & -understanding.
Urban practice: The hunting and keeping of songbirds has a long tradition in Vietnam – often Red-whiskered Bulbuls (chào mào), a species that does not reproduce in captivity.
On Sundays, dozens of wooden cages are hung in courtyards, parks, or cafés – and the singing competitions begin. The bird keepers spend their time drinking coffee, smoking, and exchanging notes on care and training.
TPG & BRO are currently developing an AI-powered bird-to-human translation machine – installed directly in public space.
