TAKE ME TO THAT LANDSCAPE
@hanna.meteorite.mattes is a performance, sound and visual artist with a background in film making and linguistics. She positions herself as a photographer, writer, director and actor at the same time in many of her projects. In locations ranging from Chile, to New York, to the darkroom, Mattes’s work honors the secret, the undefinable, and the mysterious nested in the experience of life in our ever-shifting world. She has exhibited and held artist residencies across the globe.
@d.rothenberg is a musician, philosopher, and a Distinguished Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. ). As a composer and jazz clarinetist, he has played alongside Pauline Oliveros, Peter Gabriel, and Ray Phiri, among others. His book Why Birds Sing (2006) was published across Europe and Asia, and turned into a feature length documentary.
'Take me to that Landscape' is a sound and poetry collaboration between the two of them. Having worked together since the first lockdown in 2020, which resulted for example in a one hour radio show on Montez Press Radio and an online performance for the New York Art Book Fair, they now are looking to perform live at @Fleetstreet_theater_hamburg and plan to release an album publishing the results of their collaboration.
