Founded in 2007 by Amie Tanoewidjaja and her sister, InaDance began as a small group of 4. Amie started her dance journey at Sanggar Melati in Amsterdam at the age of 14, where she mastered the basic Nusantara movements under Jaipongan teacher Ibu Yayah Fatli.
In 2014, InaDance expanded to include more talented dancers, each bringing their own extensive experience and training from Indonesia. The group now consists of seven performers who combine years of practice with a shared passion for Indonesian dance. Together, they bring their unique skills and talents to the stage, creating performances that reflect both their individual artistry and collective harmony.
InaDance offers a diverse repertoire of classical and modern Indonesian dances from Sumatra, Java, Bali, and Kalimantan, as well as original choreography that balances tradition with innovation.
Over the years, InaDance has performed at numerous major festivals and Asian-related events across the Netherlands and internationally. A career highlight was performing for the King and Queen of Sweden in 2017, a testament to the group’s dedication, skill, and artistry.
