⚠️ Attention! Alert! ⚠️
The first dates for 2027 are confirmed... and wicked guests for November and February are fixed as well. Watch this space for more details!

Upcoming dates:
***2026***
🗓 September 12th - with Gabby Ochoa
🗓 November 28th - guest confirmed (still top secret 🤫)

***2027***
🗓 February 27th - guest confirmed (still top secret 🤫)
🗓 May 🚧 - exact date coming soon
🗓 September 3rd + 4th - 25 Year Anniversary Weekender
🗓 December 🚧 - exact date coming soon

As both you and the algorithm seem to prefer record content around here, here’s the haul from the last two weeks (which got cleaned & shelved today).
The notorious cut-corner brown sleeves in the back came from Hamburg-based record shop Pure Soul Recordshop aka. 'pure reggae'. Decent tunes in decent condition at decent prices - make sure to stop by!
The two records at the front: one obscure late-’60s style tune and one personal COXSONE long-time-want (with no UK release).
Both now came from different corners of the world but, by coincidence, both passed through the same record shop in the Jamaican country side (Mandeville) at some point in time.

Swipe to hear a snippet of the first one... and come to our next parties to hear this and many more well known and forgotten gems in full. 🇯🇲🎼

Recap | Last weekend | 🇯🇲 x 🍺
40°C heat in the city last weekend, below 20°C and rain this weekend. Strange and super unreliable weather.
One thing that is reliable:
Beyond Beer serving and selling the biggest and best beer selection in Hamburg for 11 years now. Happy birthday again, .
Thanks again for the invite — we’ll be back for sure, .
Huge thanks also to our friend David, aka Cpt. Punch, who stepped in for Heiko last weekend. Perfect day, from sharing decks & beers to the taco extravaganza at afterwards 🫶

Next TREASURE SOUNDS date | Goldener Salon 12.09 with GABBY OCHOA .
If you’re not from Hamburg, make sure to sort your travel now. Hamburg is beautiful in September and the night is going to be wicked! 🇯🇲🔥⚓️

Meanwhile, we’re busy digging out more throwback material from the archives 📸🎬, working on this year’s November date, 28.11, and of course the big 25-year anniversary shenanigans in 2027.
Big things coming. For now, just make sure to block the weekender date: 3rd & 4th September 2027 🧨🗓❗️

Stay tuned!

🇯🇲 Recap | Jamaica 2017 | Read below... 📰

The other day I posted a little history about the Treasure Sounds logo we’ve been using for quite some time now.

As mentioned in the other post, the logo was designed by Chineman .me from Aces Sounds, Costa Rica, who we first met in Jamaica in 2017.

Out of a 3.5-week road trip, we spent one week with the fine crew in Long Bay: .

Great times jointly digging records, roaming beautiful Portland Parish, sharing the same accommodation and sharing decks at with .

Almost 10 years later — this October 23rd + 24th — finally seeing & sharing decks withChineman again in Donostia (San Sebastian) at / / alongside a great line-up including DJs spanning the globe from Malaysia to Mexico: , , , and .

Outlook: More throwbacks with Aces Sound to come. We visited them in winter 2018 in their hometown San José, Costa Rica, for a session at Amon Solar and some great times in a Pacific vacation home — but that deserves another post.

And while digging through the archive, we also found some nice footage from summer 2018, when Enrico visited us in Hamburg for a Treasure Sounds harbour cruise boat party on . More on that one in another post.

Stay tuned,
Dennis

Post number 100?
So here’s a little background story on the Treasure Sounds logo we’ve been using for almost a decade now.
When I took over the main responsibility for our party from Hei-ko around 2016/17, I felt we needed a event logo — mostly so I didn’t have to start every flyer from scratch again and again.
The design itself was inspired by two things: a little roadside shack called “Triple Pub” somewhere in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica — and, of course, one of the greatest labels in Jamaican music: COXSONE.

Big thanks to .me aka. Chineman from in Costa Rica, who designed the logo for us. I first met him in Jamaica in 2017, together with the rest of the Aces crew and from & .

Also in the video: two flyers for our party designed by Chineman. The very first one using the logo, from December 2017, and another one a year later, from December 2018 — two nights with some of Hamburg’s finest selectors - shout out to / / Paul + David

More little throwbacks coming over the next few days:
1. Jamaica 2017 footage featuring the full Aces Sound crew.
2. Summer 2018 recap: Enrico visiting us in Hamburg and playing on our boat trip ()
3. Winter 2018: San José, Costa Rica party with Aces Sound: / /

Greetings from tropical Hamburg,
Dennis

Recap 2024 📸🔥🎶
In the spirit of “support the youngsters”, here’s some March 2024 material of our mate Harry Morgan from England playing his Jamaican selection in Germany for the very first time. What a fun weekend and night that was!

By the way, Harry recently joined Instagram as and started showcasing some of the treasures from his record collection. Make sure to follow him!

And while we’re on the topic of supporting the next generation: we would love to invite younger selectors more often, but the truth is, there don’t seem to be that many around in our little vintage Jamaican music bubble.
On the dancefloor, however, we see more and more younger people getting into Jamaican oldies but goodies — which is great to see.

So if you have any tips, names or recommendations regarding young selectors from Germany or Europe, please send them our way.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

🎶🇯🇲 12th September: Treasure Sounds with GABBY OCHOA 🇯🇲🎶

Our party concept? A musical menu of exquisite Rocksteady, Reggae and Ska records. Original vintage Jamaican sounds with a strong focus on the 60s — served up by your Treasure Sounds hosts, with the spotlight on wonderful rotating guests from near and far. This time, the spotlight is on: GABBY OCHOA 🇪🇨💃

■ Quick introduction by Gabby herself:
“Ecuador-born, Scotland-based, and 100% dedicated to the sounds of 60s and 70s Jamaica. What began as a teenage obsession has never let up; especially my soft spot for Coxsone Dodd productions, which you’ll hear woven throughout my selection."
■ What we would like to add:
Our first connection with Gabby goes way back.
We first crossed paths in 2011, when she was spending some time in Germany studying in Aachen. Back then, we kept bumping into her very frequently — as she enthusiastically attended almost every party happening in the wider area at the time: Bamberg / Swing & Sway, Koblenz / Jump For Joy Weekender, Eindhoven / Endless Memories — to name just a few.
Then we completely lost touch for years, until we connected via Instagram more than a decade later. It first took us quite a while to connect the dots from a Scotland-based instagram account all the way back to those 2011 dancefloors — but we managed. Small world!
Lovely to see: her musical taste and passion for the music has only grown stronger — and, of course, she has been busy piling up a fantastic stack of records along the way.
Hamburg people, look forward to the September edition! Especially all you Studio One and Rocksteady connoisseurs - it’s going to be heavy! 🔥
