MUTATION PROCEEDINGS is a series of photographs and part of the masterthesis “forms of the formless” by our dear .knpp.mara

The life of individual creatures is bound to an uncertain span, which man can meet with the greatest understanding and empathy due to his own transience. Away from the consideration of individual life, however, there is a super construct that leaves generations behind in eon steps. Complete evolutionary chains provide powerful starting points for how different species behave far beyond the life cycle of individual beings. The genetic code changes slowly but steadily. Adaptation to the environment occurs because this random process gives rise to species that are better adapted to, for example, changing conditions. The mutations do not occur to adapt the creatures to the environment, the process is random.

In this photographic work, the concept of mutation is removed from its biological origin and viewed in a reduced way: (An-) Organic substances and material compounds are subjected to external influences such as supplied energy or forces and driven to change or even decompose. The result is a material examination of temporally conditioned mutability in the form of diverse material sculptures.

Tonight at 7pm is the opening of at the with a selection of young photography from Germany, which reflects the diverse echoes of current social and political as well as aesthetic and media discourses.

The work ‘Ataxia Axtaraxia’ (2019/2020) by member is also part of the exhibition which is on view at PHOXXI - Haus der Photographie Temporär until 1 May 2022. Feel free to drop by if you're in Hamburg.

Am 31.7. 2021 wird im Rahmen einer Performance der Asphaltboden in den Tamara Danz Höfen symbolisch aufgebrochen, um aufzuzeigen, dass mit dem Entsiegeln von Parkplätzen oder ähnlich voll-versiegelten Flächen, ein positiver Beitrag zum lokalen Klima und der Entstehung eines neuen urbanen Ökosystems geleistet werden kann. Mit der an die Aktion anschließenden Renaturierung kann dieser Mehrwert dauerhaft gesichert werden.
