Such a pleasure to be in the company of other extraordinary pianists such as Yuja Wang, Lang Lang - 郎朗, Hayato Sumino - Cateen and many more.

On every Steinway Spirio grand piano you will have the opportunity to listen to brand new music that I’ve recently recorded at the Steinway Hall in New York City. This music has not been released elsewhere yet, so the only chance to listen to it is to search for a Steinway Spirio somewhere around the world.

It felt very special to play a concert within the empty Cathedral of Halle Saale in a time where culture has been widely muted. This church hosted many great musicians from the past, also Georg Friedrich Handel played there around year 1702. The concert was supposed to be performed during the Filmmusiktage and the award ceremony of the Deutscher Filmmusikpreis - German Film Music Award, which had to be cancelled because of Covid. I’m grateful to the organisation that insisted in keeping the concert as a gesture of support for the arts in a time where almost every event is canceled. I had the opportunity to play my music together with wonderful musicians from the Staatskapelle Halle. Hope to be back again and perform in front of real audience.

Composing sounds for the very first fully electric MINI Cooper SE was a truly exciting journey! I worked intensely together with Oliver Heilmer, Christian Bauer, Christopher Weil at the MINI Design Studio, but also with many great colleagues from the Brand Identity, Acoustic and Sound Design Teams, who helped to bring a vision into reality.

The voice I‘ve given to this car is pretty unique because it interprets two essential design elements of the wheel rims and the cockpit, and at the same time integrates them with the idea of transforming a light field into an acoustic field, that ultimately turns into a luminescent, radiant, passionate and energetic sound. I put lots of effort to create a sound that respects the environment, but also brings a new subtle, warm and positive touch to the soundscape of the future.
I‘ve also composed the very first Start/Stop Sound for a MINI, which is reproduced whenever you press on the Start button. This sound also contains a little secret, let me know if you ever find that out! :)

Nel giorno in cui l'Italia riparte, il Corriere della Sera mi dedica uno spazio con uno sguardo al futuro dei suoni. Spero che questa ripartenza nasca sotto la migliore delle luci e sia per tutti un inizio positivo nel segno del cambiamento e di un futuro di storie nuove da scoprire, vivere, ascoltare e condividere. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we heading to?
These are some of the questions I tried to answer with my last album DISORDERS. Music alone was not enough to convey the vastness of the implications, that’s why DISORDERS turned into a Sonic/Visual Experience brought to life together with my twin flame and soulmate TAXIPLASM, whose gift to capture the human condition within the spiral of emotional turbulence is incomparable.
We are looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you sometime soon.
