So I said I would be off air for a couple of days and I can now reveal the reason: On Monday 7 August I flew to LA with my manager Colin. There we linked up with our colleague Swen Peukert and yesterday we signed an agreement with TriArts Partners LLC in which they have undertaken to seek opportunities for our music - recording, publishing and performing - in North America and, potentially, beyond.
The principals of TriArts are Ron Kramer, Ben Bernstein and Brian Panella who between them have a rich history of management, promotion and production of leading artists including Whitney Houston, Neil Diamond, The Everly Brothers and Chaka Khan, to name just a few. I am honoured and humbled that they are prepared to back me in this way. We had an amazing day with them yesterday seeing the sights of LA and later today we will meet them for a trip to the beach.
We all know this is a tough business and this is only the start of something that may or may not go anywhere but I am hugely grateful for the opportunity and very excited about the possibilities. And I thank Swen, who made the initial contact and Colin, who drafted and negotiated the formal agreement that we have signed. I'm so lucky to have such a great team around me both on and off the stage.
So, now that I've 'come out' about where I am and what I am doing, more updates will follow. Having come all this way we are going to take the opportunity to see some sights and meet other music contacts. Tomorrow we leave LA for Nashville then we will visit Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York before returning home later this month.
