Weekly life drawing sessions and art classes since 2012 in Berlin! Poses can go normally from 2 to 20/30 minutes.

Berlin School of Drawing ( born as Berlin Drawing ) has been founded in 2012 as a meeting place for people who wish to develop their creative skills by learning and practicing several techniques. Since than, we are regularly offering weekly classes and weekend workshops, developing a growing artists community. Following our classes, students have time to practice and learn through a strong program

based on the tuition of basics and advanced knowledge on drawing, panting, life drawing, illustration, sculpture, printing and more. Along with technical skills, lessons focus on art history and the development of visual art during history. The weekly appointment with the untutored life drawing sessions is now established and a reference for sketchers in the area and from other parts of town. The session is an opportunity to draw and meet other sketchers, with experienced models posing for 2 hours in a beautiful location. Lessons are conducted in English ( we speak also German ). Die Aktzeichnen Sessions sind eine Möglichkeit Modelle regellmäßig fur 2 Stunden in einem schonen Raum zu zeichnen und andere Zeichnern/innen zu treffen. Die Modelle werden normalerweise von 2 bis 40 Minuten posieren (oder laengere). Der Zeichen- und Malkurs gliedert sich in Theorie und Praxis der Linienführung, der Farben, der Licht- und Schattentechniken, der Reproduktion von Bildern und Kompositionen, der Aktzeicnhung, mit lange oder kurze Posen, der Vertiefung der Themen in Einzel- und Gruppenaufgaben, Beispielwerken und Studien zu Kunstwerken von großen Meistern.

Description of the class:
This class will focus on the fundamentals of working with clay.
Exploring form, texture, and the relation between your hands and the material.
We will learn how to shape different forms like bowls, plates or cups through basic handbuilding techniques. We’ll also explore surface texture and finishing touches, which will bring character and presence to each unique piece you create.

Your creations will be glazed and fired in the weeks following the session, and then be ready to be picked up!.

We recommend coming dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting messy, and keeping your nails trimmed short for the best experience with the clay.

A 4 weeks class for beginners.
The goal of the class is to learn basics of figure drawing such has volume, lines, weight, shading.
We’ll focus on proportions and forms, introducing methods and tools to simplify the human figure.

We will work on quick and long poses, standing and sitting poses in order to understand foreshortening.
The overall goal will be to be able to draw models with shading and volume.
We will mainly work with pencils

Each individual will be guided separately so any level is welcome!

ALL MATERIAL WILL BE PROVIDED by us:
however you are more than welcome to bring your own material and try things out.

The aim of the class is to target a big range of people who know nothing about drawing, to the ones who have some experience already and want to develop ideas, techniques etc. therefore it will be suitable for complete beginners or intermediates.
We will sometimes have models, sometimes work on still life, sometimes on botany, sometimes we will focus rather on techniques and some other times it ́s more liberated and free.

The goal of the class is to learn how to draw, and how to find your own style with time.

June 4: Intro to Acrylics. Materials and techniques.
June 11: Abstract surrealism in acrylics. How to start a painting against the fear of the blank.
June 18: Colour theory applied through all painting mediums.
June 25: Image transfer with acrylic mediums and mixed media.

July 2: Intro to watercolour and gouache
July 9: Botanical art (drawing and painting).
July 16: Introduction to Indian(Chinese) ink, learning how to work with shadows, layers and lines
July23: Mixed media painting
July 30: life drawing with Model, material choice up-to students
