Weekly life drawing sessions and art classes since 2012 in Berlin! Poses can go normally from 2 to 20/30 minutes.

Berlin School of Drawing ( born as Berlin Drawing ) has been founded in 2012 as a meeting place for people who wish to develop their creative skills by learning and practicing several techniques. Since than, we are regularly offering weekly classes and weekend workshops, developing a growing artists community. Following our classes, students have time to practice and learn through a strong program

based on the tuition of basics and advanced knowledge on drawing, panting, life drawing, illustration, sculpture, printing and more. Along with technical skills, lessons focus on art history and the development of visual art during history. The weekly appointment with the untutored life drawing sessions is now established and a reference for sketchers in the area and from other parts of town. The session is an opportunity to draw and meet other sketchers, with experienced models posing for 2 hours in a beautiful location. Lessons are conducted in English ( we speak also German ). Die Aktzeichnen Sessions sind eine Möglichkeit Modelle regellmäßig fur 2 Stunden in einem schonen Raum zu zeichnen und andere Zeichnern/innen zu treffen. Die Modelle werden normalerweise von 2 bis 40 Minuten posieren (oder laengere). Der Zeichen- und Malkurs gliedert sich in Theorie und Praxis der Linienführung, der Farben, der Licht- und Schattentechniken, der Reproduktion von Bildern und Kompositionen, der Aktzeicnhung, mit lange oder kurze Posen, der Vertiefung der Themen in Einzel- und Gruppenaufgaben, Beispielwerken und Studien zu Kunstwerken von großen Meistern.

URBAN SKETCHES
WITH INKS AND WATERCOLOR

TUE July 14th and 21st

MATERIAL INCLUDED

Join me outdoors as we learn techniques to translate our urban environment to paper! We’ll experiment using ink and watercolor washes to capture the mood and specifics of a scene. Learn about how to choose a composition, simplify the scene and amplify your impressions. Guided exercises and short demonstrations will lead to longer time for your own experimentation.
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER, WE WIIL USE THE ROOM / PORCH at the Kapelle

Use our sheets or bring your own watercolor notebook, A4 or bigger, and a bottle of water.
All other materials will be provided.

2 WEEKS CLASS ON WATERCOLOR
for beginners

ALL MATERIAL INCLUDED

Learn the expressive and fluid nature of watercolor! Working in a relaxed and supportive setting, you’ll explore the unique properties of watercolor with lively still life compositions as our inspiration.

Short demonstrations and guided exercises introduce key watercolor techniques with plenty of time for experimentation and play. Participants will focus on observing shapes, colors, and textures while learning how to translate them into dynamic watercolor paintings.
No prior experience is required, just your curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Beginners course in the study of the human figure and anatomy in drawing. We examine how the body moves in relation to itself and the environment. We will put to practice the skills we learn to draw n**e models from life. Level up your life and figure drawing skills!

WEEK I. Fundamentals of drawing, techniques and materials. Building up a figure from lines, shapes and angles. Proportion, landmarks, muscles and skeletal structure and negative space.

WEEK II. More work on muscles and structrue.

WEEK II. Model drawing. Using light and shadow to create volume. Exploring line work to create weight and contours. Contour drawing. Blind contour. Practice how to observe from Life.

WEEK III. Model drawing. Expression and movement. Conveying emotion and dynamic poses. Foreshortening and the figure in perspective. Bringing it all together. Critique session.

Starting from an intro to tools and methods to draw a face correctly, we’ll focus on planes and details by practicing on live model.
We will deepen shading and resemblance.
