The Kyburg Sonata emerged as a result of my preoccupation with the question: what is originality and creativity and is there such a thing? The idea was to create a work that consisted entirely of parts of existing works by other artists, and to put these parts together like playing with Lego blocks. The material of the "Lego Castle" or the Kyburg Sonata is the festival program of the Kyburgiade 2019.
The first movement "Let Us Dream" is in German (Erlkönig from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) and French.
The second movement "Italian Spring" is an Homage to Antonio Vivaldi, in Italian language.
The third movement "Night" is in Romansh language, ft. Astrid Alexandre.
I would like to thank Peter Stöcklin for believing in this idea, Kyburgiade Internationales Musikfestival for making all this possible and being part of the music, I would like to thank my friends Juliette Froissart, Hans-Peter Sieber and Matyld Bigler for helping me out in French, Elisabetta Cuccaro for helping me out in Italian and Astrid Alexandre for the "robot voice" in the third movement and for helping me out in Romansh. Thank you Robert Pachaly for the mastering.
