What I sold at my first festival market over 3 days!
🎀 MARKET RECAP:
The market was Altstadtfest rather than an art market, and honestly it wasn’t a great market for me. There wasn’t as much traffic as expected, and overall I had about 2% of the traffic coming into my booth compared to other booths. A big reason was probably that my setup looked out of place (it honestly looked like it was illegally built 🤣) compared to the more professional tents around me.
My top 3 best-selling items over the entire 3 days were:
• 14 stickers
• 6 keychains
• 5 bookmarks
So yeah… it wasn’t just a slow market, it was a very slow market 😅
Considering it was a 3-day market, it wasn’t worth the effort and time. I didn’t even break even after the expenses I had from travelling, food, and materials. So while it was a valuable experience, it didn’t translate into a return for the time and effort I invested.
Still, I’m thankful for the experience and for being able to do something I genuinely enjoy. Every market teaches you something about your setup, your audience, and what you can improve for the next one. ❤️
