One year ago today KdeWe has resettled to use an Advertising column in the middle of the City. 🚧

The transformation of Public Space and Art then forms the center of KdeWe’s interest. As we manoeuver the second year as an art space in the world of a pandemic the question for adaptive exhibitino formats stays relevant as ever 🤔

Approaching our third birthday we are looking back to our show IDEA💡 by Siggi Hofer from 2018.

„Language is a weapon, keep it honed,“ Kurt Tucholsky wrote in 1929 in one of his famous glosses. Language is a battlefield in fact where interpretative authority is disputed. Siggi Hofer's works come on quietly, although language is their constituent element. The paintings by the Viennese artist reconcile the vagueness of terms with a reduced-pop, almost commercial aesthetic. Siggi Hofer's word paintings are like letter cases with which the viewer prepares himself to be able to absorb the struggle for meaning in a world that is becoming less and less self-evident. Because language is not just a weapon, it is also a remedy. 🧪
