OPEN NOW ✨
Our two new exhibitions are now on view at The Cube in Eschborn: “Jamel Shabazz. New York Vibes” and “Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2026”.
Discover the first comprehensive exhibition of the renowned photographer Jamel Shabazz’s work in Germany. Featuring more than 60 photographs, it offers a vivid portrait of life in New York in the 1980s and 1990s, capturing friendship, family, community and the emergence of hip-hop culture. Alongside Shabazz’s iconic street portraits, the exhibition also includes lesser-known images taken during his many years of service as a correction officer on Rikers Island, reflecting on the realities of social marginalisation and exclusion.
Running in parallel is the exhibition “Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2026”, featuring works by shortlisted artists Jane Evelyn Atwood, Weronika Gęsicka, Amak Mahmoodian and this year’s winner Rene Matić. The exhibition unites diverse forms of photographic expression, ranging from classic black-and-white images, collaborative projects, and installation collages to AI-based works. It was curated by Julia Bunnemann from the Photographers’ Gallery.
Take the opportunity to experience both exhibitions in one visit. ✨
They are on view until 17 January 2027. To visit, book a free guided tour on our website, or stop by without prior registration at the Frankfurt Art Experience on 5 September, or on one of our “Open Saturdays” on 31 October 2026 and 16 January 2027.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Cube!
