“We set out to forge a new sonic language,” says Adi Newton of Clock DVA. “To unite acoustic instrumentation and electronics—bridging the German electronic wave with the raw edge of The Stooges, the avant-garde experimentation of the French GRM musique concrète, and the pioneering audiovisual sensibility of the Velvet Underground—in order to create a harder form of electronic music charged with real energy.”
— Daniel Dylan Wray, DVA Mute Biography, 2025
Clock DVA are increasingly recognised as one of the seminal founding groups of the industrial music movement that emerged in 1978 alongside Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire.
Across a career spanning decades, the group has produced a series of critically acclaimed albums, including *White Souls in Black Suits*, *Thirst*, *Buried Dreams*, *Advantage*,
*Man-Amplified*, *Sign*, *Post-Sign*, *Clock 2*, *Neoteric*, and 2024’s widely praised *Noesis*.
In 2025, Mute Records released a remastered edition of *White Souls in Black Suits* (LP/CD), originally issued on Industrial Records, to unanimous critical acclaim.
In 2026, Mute will issue a remastered edition of *Thirst*, featuring new versions of “4 Hours” and “Sensorium,” followed later in the year by a reissue of *Noesis*.
Additional remastered works and new recordings are currently in progress.
The latest release is *Second Sight* (Book and CD), available via PC Press, ARMComm, and Rizosfera.
