WE CAN'T WAIT 🪩 SATURDAY

🔥 Dance with us! We take over Koralle Dresden for one night to celebrate our new tape release with Gareth Psaltis. This is music that feels like a new musical adventure for us – unfamiliar territory also for our new friend, the Australian-Berliner Gareth Psaltis, especially since he had previously released music under the pseudonym Barking. »In Her Reflection« ventures into electronic landscapes shaped by jungle, wave, techno, and post-punk, while also revealing smaller ambient and jazz islands along the way. His live set will tell this travel story in a pretty straightforward variation.

Alongside the Uncanny Valley DJs, support comes from two local heroines: Fran with one of her UK sound-informed sets, and Alphonsine Koh, who combines freshness, a spirit of experimentation, and Abfahrt like no one else.

With IN HER REFLECTION the Australian-born artist steps into a new chapter. Formerly releasing music under the moniker Barking, the Berlin-based producer now presents his most personal work to date under his full name, marking both an artistic and emotional shift. It’s his first release on our long-running Dresden-based label Uncanny Valley, which is venturing into uncharted territory with this release.

The album signals a clear move away from the analogue-synthesis foundations of his earlier output towards a more fragmentary, collage-like approach. Samples drawn from obscure jazz and Greek folk records intertwine with everyday field recordings, framed by jungle rhythms and ambient drift but also post punk-informed basslines, wave and jazz structures. The result is music that feels intimate yet open-ended, rooted in club culture while quietly pulling away from it.

Written over the past one to two years, IN HER REFLECTION mirrors a period of profound change in Psaltis’ life. Navigating the isolation and uncertainty of living in Berlin, the process was shaped by his wife’s pregnancy and the birth of his first daughter, experiences that brought new forms of connection, grounding and belonging. These themes surface most clearly on the title track, which also marks the first appearance of Psaltis’ own vocals, reflecting on transformation, vulnerability and closeness.

Balancing introspection with rhythmic precision, IN HER REFLECTION is not a reinvention but a refinement, an album that embraces subtlety, memory and emotional resonance and positions Gareth Psaltis firmly within Uncanny Valley’s distinctive catalogue.

🩷 Those were the days. From 2006 until 2010 The Moroders aka Conrad, Philipp (also two thirds of Uncanny Valley) and the mysterious L Moroder hosted a club night called Cosmic Dancer at the beloved Altes Wettbüro. While wearing black suits to pink ties those wannabe-Giorgio-heirs often invited artists just right before their breakthrough moment, like Todd Terje, Tim Sweeney, Tensnake, HUNEE, Runaway, Session Victim, Severino of Horse Meat Disco, Carina Posse or Hrdvsion. And with Beppe Loda, Mooner or Danny Wang they welcomed true legends as well. It was a special disco night that was open to any kind of music with groove.

🪩 So for the 20th anniversary, here’s a bit of a comeback. But now that Altes Wettbüro has been transformed into a restaurant and concert venue first and foremost, they’re moving into the mighty GrooveStation Dresden to revive the Cosmic Dancer vibes together with Igor Amore. Ride with them!

Für eine Nacht lassen The Moroders ihre legendäre Cosmic-Dancer-Party wieder aufleben, die einst so versierte Zeremonienmeister wie Todd Terje, Hunee oder Tim Sweeney nach Dresden brachte.

Gemeinsam mit dem ewigen Wunderkind Igor Amore verzaubern die drei Discotizer die GrooveStation in einen entzückenden Ballroom der Liebe. Dafür schmeißen sie Tracks von Afro bis Zouk auf die Plattenspieler, die selbst zwei linke Füße in wandelnde Groovemaschinen verwandeln, sobald sie den Dancefloor betreten.

Drei Tage noch, bis Bobbie in der Groovestation Acid-Tränen der Freude über die Plattenspieler vergießt, um uns neben Iron Curtis die Betriebsweihnachtsfeier zu versüßen. Als hanseatische Tierliebhaberin kennt sie sich mit Kranichen und Pudeln gut aus, kann aber zur Not auch einen Golem beschwören, um im Labor den PAL-Standard wieder herzustellen. Wichtiger ist aber vielleicht auch, dass ihre DJ-Sets zwischen acid, electro, techno, wave und industrial enorm viel Bock machen.

Every year, Christmas gets a little extra polish. At the annual Uncanny Valley Betriebsweihnachtsfeier, laptops are shut down while hearts open collectively on the Groovestation dancefloor. The circle of colleagues gets scaled up to watch Iron Curtis and BOBBIE* share stories from their global house and techno adventures. After all, it’s been a year in which they closed more deals than state leaders on their tours through Asia. To top it off, the Uncanny Valley DJs serve up the full sonic feast in the company canteen. And everyone goes home feeling happy.

Iron Curtis will be playing alongside at our annual Uncanny End of the Year Gathering on December 26th at We share a long-standing connection with the artist. Some time ago, he released his Sweet Romancer record with us, and I designed the cover artwork for it. Back then, I was living in Dresden, in a cute house with a large garden. In the neighborhood there was this old building that had been wrapped entirely in a silver, reflective foil. I started developing a photo series around it, because every single day the wrapped building looked different. When I listened to Iron Curtis’ music for the record, it felt like something you would want to sink into, like a giant pillow. Like home. That feeling became the foundation of the cover artwork. The cover is a reflection of that time, and of the emotions connected to it. There are a few copies left in our bandcamp shop.
