🌊 Become Ocean 🌊
last night premiered at Staatstheater Darmstadt
It has been about 10 years when we discovered John Luther Adams’s Become Ocean. Since then, we had a desire for dancing on this extraordinary composition, so it feels like a dream come true, a unique and dear experience.
As LEE\VAKULYA, we aim to expand away from the illustration of the music with the dance but to create an independent dimension of rhythm, space, volume and size. For the stage to become an organic, breathing body in constant motion. Light, space, sound and bodies merge into one whole as a poetic allegory to nature, with its beauty, its roughness, and the unstoppable circularity of life.
Like the ocean itself, we move between harmony and dissonance, between inner stillness and powerful dynamics, a sensory immersion in sound, movement, and space.
We invite you into our universe, to Become Ocean. 🌊
