Pavel Kushnir was a pianist, writer and teacher whose life became a symbol of artistic courage and personal integrity.

Following his death in detention in 2024, leading musicians around the world have dedicated memorial concerts to his memory and continue to support the Pavel Kushnir Scholarship, established to help young musicians pursue their artistic path.

The Pavel Kushnir Prize honours these same values: artistic courage, honesty and musical integrity.
