Anne Truitt is considered a pioneer of Minimal Art, among the first to translate the language of painting into freestanding sculpture. Her nuanced use of color across sculptures and works on paper reflects personal experience while opening space for individual interpretation and shared, universal themes.⁠
Despite her pioneering role, Truitt has often been overshadowed by her male contemporaries - an imbalance the K20 seeks to address with this exhibition.⁠
