Sie setzt auf kulturelle Vielfalt, weitet ihre über Jahrzehnte aufgebaute Position als international richtungsweisendes Jazz-Ensemble weiter aus, gibt neue Kompositionen und Weltpremieren in Auftrag und schließt sich mit charismatischen Künstlern zusammen. Die WDR Big Band dient den Menschen Nordrhein-Westfalens sowie der globalen Musikgemeinschaft.
