Thea Soti is a multi-disciplinary artist, working at the intersection of experimental vocal music, electronic sound, installation and video art. She uses digitally manipulated sound, human voice and poetry in different formats, continuously twisting, manipulating, recycling her own voice, turning it into noise or melody, shifting between recognizably human and destorted vocal material. Most of Soti´s work are deeply connected to our communication tools and researches the complexities of affection and intimacy. Her main goal is to re-contextualize the human voice and challenge the preconceptions attached to it by stretching the borders of what a human voice can sound like. She has worked and toured internationally from New York, Paris, Copenhagen, London, Budapest, Belgrade, Berlin, Moscow, Marrakech to Tokyo and has been invited as artist-in-residence to Sonoscopia Porto (PT), JAZZAJ/BMC Budapest (HU), Balassi Institute Brussels (BE), Tarabya Cultural Academy (TR) in Istanbul, Immersive Arts Space Zürich (CH), Montévidéo Marseille (FR) or Cité internationale des Arts in Paris (FR). She has worked as a soloist with IRCAM Paris, Luxembourg Art Week, Goethe Institut, Frac Grande Large and has been selected as a SHAPE+ artist for 2022/2023. Her solo album has just been released by the Paris-based experimental label, Planisphère. Her solo performances investigate the boundaries of gender, language, memory and social affiliation by exploring virtual and posthuman identities through voice.

Keikee is a DJ and Electronic Dance Music Producer from Seoul, South Korea, closely connected to the Circle Rotary collective, and a familiar presence on the decks at the clubs of the vibrant underground scene, such as , , , and .
In 2021, Keikee relocated to Cologne, Germany, and began studying at the Pop Institute of Folkwang University Of Arts. Within just a few months, Keikee had already made her presence known at some of Cologne's most established Electronic Music venues and events, including .klub .de
Keikee's deep connection to club music and its people translate into truly immersive DJ sets that connect the audience and DJ to the moment, with an approach to DJing that is as simple as it is beautiful, drawing solely from the true origin and point of club nights: Emotional communication through music, and the intention to create and share a welcoming & embracing atmosphere and space to share together where "There is no need to talk".
Keikee is reclaiming an often forgotten promise the club scene has always offered, and her demand could hardly be more topical. In this playful workshop, we explore sounds as living creatures. Musical or atonal, controlled or chaotic – we believe sounds always have a body that is more than its source and reverb, and an intelligence that always knows something its creators and listeners do not. This puts sounds at an interesting position: their lives are dependent on relationships and events, and at the same time, they are also sentient entities that affect the very same relationships they are born from. Throughout the day we will engage in simple exercises in attention, imagination and sounding to create a set of sonic creatures (creatures that exist ‘only’ as sounds) that can be heard, touched and spoken to. We will discover how it is to develop intimate relationships with sounds and reflect on the questions that come up along the way. Can a sound be owned? Can a sound own us? Can a sound tell us things we don’t know? Can we tell secrets to a sound? Can we keep sounds in our home? In our pocket? In the sky? Between our fingers? This workshop is suitable for everyone interested in exploring sounds, touch, language, relationships and world-building and in a playful and accessible environment, together with a group. Our exercises are made so participants can adjust them to their needs. You will not be asked to perform, but be prepared to challenge sensation and perception!

Experiencing closeness at a distance is what this project by Anna van Eck is all about. At its core, it explores nonverbal communication in the framework of a special setting – the social event of a shared dinner. With artistically shaped and enhanced cutlery, physical distance is enforced, while at the same time, the participants receive tools to creatively bridge that gap. Anna van Eck invites the participants through her work to perceive closeness at a distance emotionally. In interaction, social gestures and habits at the table can be explored to overcome physical distance. The intuitively usable objects provide an opportunity for people to meet in unconventional ways. In Festmahl, the relation of closeness despite the distance is rendered interactive as the participants discover the functions and dysfunctions of the prototypes playfully.

Her DJ sets move between different styles and genres - reaggeton meets breakbeat and hyper-pop meets techno. In addition to DJing, Sarah is a multidisciplinary costume designer/ stylist and artist.

Our acts range from performative installations and concerts to interactive formats in digital space and guided, collective experiences. For the next edition of the festival that will take place in Cologne in autumn of 2023, we are currently looking for artists from all disciplines who would like to participate in our interdisciplinary projects.

Please keep in mind that we are a platform for emerging artists who are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration. We do not aim to present individual artistic positions, but we are focusing on the process of collective creation across disciplines.

Artists of any discipline (fine arts, music, performance, drama, dance, game design ..) There is no age limit, however we do consider the festival to be a platform for emerging professional artists. We cannot invite already existing groups or collectives.

Call for Ukrainian DJs
Guterstoff is an interdisciplinary festival for experimental music and performance taking place in Cologne from May 27th to 29th 2022.
Important part of the festival will be a techno party hosted in the festival venue on May 28th.
Together with our line up we would like to invite Ukrainian DJs that have recently arrived to Germany to perform a techno set at the party. We will provide an artist fee, transportation and if necessary accomodation.
Our aim is to welcome artists who have recently arrived to Germany to our community and support their professional career.

Tristan Braun works as a director, musician and performer after having studied stage directing at Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin. The variety of tools and contexts he works with find their foundation in his aim to transform and blend historical, traditional with contemporary material into new forms. In his main work as a stage director he applies these principles both in classical opera at places like Staatsoper Hamburg or Bayreuth Festival as well as in free productions, e.d. at radialsystem Berlin. As a baroque violinist, he plays with ensembles such as Concerto Köln, lautten compagney or La Banda among persuing contemporary and chamber music projects. Not only since he worked with choreographer and director Sasha Waltz, contemporary dance plays a big part in his approach to the stage. His goal to connect different art forms, finding a new understanding of contemporary culture and the role of the audience in a live performance led to projects such as the well-received music theatre installation MEMBRA which he produced, directed and presented at Kühlhaus Berlin as a multi-layered response to the first experiences of the pandemic.
Friedemann Dupelius (*1987) works with sound and language. He moves between artistic, journalistic and documentary approaches, which influence each other and often find their way into one in one work at the same time. As Friday Dunard he produces genrefluid electronic music, which he releases releases, performs live, or mixes into DJ sets. Under the alias Wednesday Dupont he creates
radio plays, sonic research, digital and acoustic texts for radio, festivals and internet.
Irene is a recorder player and singer based in Amsterdam. She performs a variety of music ranging from medieval to contemporary classical music as well as improvised and original music.
Anna van Eck is a sculptural designer exploring the boundaries of functionality within products. The human mind tends to respond to problems or challenges when they are right in front. In an age of climate change and many other challenges, this is life-threatening. Design is her tool to deal with social matters. Trained in applied Arts and Design as well as in crafts (goldsmith) her interactive products irritate at first sight but lead to an emotional learning experience.
For the sound artist and architect Nathalie Brum (Atelier Brum) sound and space form a unit. Nathalie sees her site-specific installation as an instrument for new forms of spatial perception and appropriation. She transforms the noises of hidden infrastructures into acousmatic compositions: two-dimensional, flowing and merging with the space. She is currently based in Cologne.
Nikolas Brummer (*1996) ist an artist, writer and curator living in Berlin. Working in a manifold of different media, he examines the social, cultural and political dimensions of emotion and affect. He is the co-founder of PlusX, a project space dedicated to performance, text and sound. PlusX finds its form as a monthly radio-show as well as through regular publications on its website.
Farzaneh Nouri (aka Farzané, Pher) is an Iranian musician, composer and sound artist based in the netherlands.
Concerned with interdisciplinary ideas, she utilizes creative coding, acoustic and programmable instruments and live electronics to compose her pieces. Her recent works explore complex systems, natural algorithms, human- machine interaction and autonomous agency of sound objects in hybrid musical systems. She is currently focused on artificial intelligence methods in the framework of algorithmic compositions and composing with generative environments to create a complex network of sonic material with emergent behaviours.
Fazarné is an Iranian musician, composer and sound artist . Concerned with interdisciplinary ideas, she utilizes creative coding, acoustic and programmable instruments, and live electronics to compose her pieces. Her recent works explore complex systems, natural algorithms, human - machine interaction and autonomous agency of sound objects in hybrid musical systems. She is currently based in The Hague.
Benjamin Grau is a musician and composer. In his own music, he draws inspiration from his earlier musical socialization, which took place primarily in the realm of popular music. In his creative process, he isolates specific sounds, structures and processes that evoke a strong, visceral reaction in him and explores them, extends them, pushes them to extremes that bear little resemblance to their original context. Benni is currently based in Cologne.
