In E(R)DEN, choreographer Ursina Tossi and her team explore the ambivalent character of the “Garden of Eden”. Paradise is neither a transcendent nor an idyllic place, neither a religious control room, a place of longing, nor a tourist resort. It is a state of abundance that must be created.

In times of ecological scarcity and the decline of closeness, contact, and attention, E(R)DEN seeks the power of movement, encounter, warmth, and ecstasy. Digging into layers of earth, history and desire, the work searches for a different kind of ground — soft, permeable and alive.

Mit E(R)DEN ist Ursina Tossi mit ihrer aktuellen Arbeit in Köln! Die Choreografin und ihr Team erkunden den ambivalenten Charakter des »Gartens Eden«. Das Paradies ist für sie weder ein jenseitiger noch idyllischer Ort, kein religiöser Kontrollraum, kein Sehnsuchtsort und kein touristisches Ressort. Es ist ein Zustand von Fülle, der hergestellt werden muss.

In Zeiten ökologischer Knappheit sowie des Schwindens von Nähe, Kontakt und Aufmerksamkeit sucht E(R)DEN nach der Kraft von Bewegung, Begegnung, Wärme und Ekstase. Das Stück gräbt in den Schichten aus Erde, Geschichte und Begehren und sucht nach einer anderen Form von Grund — weich, durchlässig und lebendig.
