💃 Europapremiere im Festivalzentrum: JO DOOBA SO PAAR

Das Musical "Jo Dooba So Paar", hinreißend präsentiert vom aRANYA Ensemble aus Mumbai, erzählt die Geschichte des berühmten Sufi-Dichters und Musikers Amir Khusrau.

Das Musical im Qawwali-Style hat die größten indischen Festivals besucht und ist nun erstmals in Europa zu erleben.

The musical JO DOOBA SO PAAR, captivatingly performed by the aRANYA THEATRE from Mumbai, tells the story of the famous Sufi poet and musician Amir Khusrau. Rami Nakhleh, Multiinstrumentalist und Mitglied des Ensembles von „Al-Sirah Al-Hilaliyyah“, präsentiert ein genreübergreifendes Konzert zwischen Jazz, zeitgenössischer Musik und arabischen Klängen.

Percussion Powerhouse mit Arsenal Mikebe! Nach gefeierten Auftritten bei Festivals wie Dekmantel, Roskilde, Fusion, CTM und Nyege Nyege gelten Arsenal Mikebe als einer der elektrisierendsten Live-Acts Ugandas. Mit ihrem Percussion-Powerhouse-Sound verbinden sie Extra Pressure, tiefen Dub und hochenergetische Rhythmen zu einem intensiven Live-Erlebnis.

Multi-instrumentalist and member of the ‘Al-Sirah Al-Hilaliyyah’ ensemble, presents a cross-genre concert blending jazz, contemporary music and Arabic sounds.

10.30 pm | Percussion powerhouse with Arsenal Mikebe!
Following acclaimed performances at festivals such as Dekmantel, Roskilde, Fusion, CTM and Nyege Nyege, Arsenal Mikebe are regarded as one of Uganda’s most electrifying live acts. With their percussion powerhouse sound, they combine ‘Extra Pressure’, deep dub and high-energy rhythms to create an intense live experience.

FESTIVALTAG 2 | Jede Menge los im Spinnbau: Talks mit den Kurator:innen im Festivalzentrum, dazu DJ Sets von sparwasser, maik // vokuhilamaik a.d. und . Dazu die Deutschlandpremiere von FAMILY TRIANGLE und die letzen Proben zur Uraufführung von 氣團 / Luftmasse by Paper Tiger Theater Studio 纸老虎戏剧工作室.

🌿 Noch bis 27. Juni kostenfrei in Halle 2: die Installation IN A STRANGE PLACE by Mia + Eric. Auch die Austellung „UM-AUF-AB-AUS-NEU Archiv und Festival THEATER DER WELT als temporäre Orte“ des ITI Germany ist ab jetzt geöffnet.

Und im Opernhaus? Da gab‘s Standing Ovations für STREAM OF MEMORY von Papermoon Puppet Theatre. 🤩

[EN] FESTIVAL DAY 2 | Plenty going on at the Spinnbau: talks with the curators at the festival centre, plus DJ sets. Also, the German premiere of FAMILY TRIANGLE and the final rehearsals for the world premiere of 氣團 / Luftmasse. Free to visit in Hall 2 until 27 June: the installation IN A STRANGE PLACE. The exhibition “UM-AUF-AB-AUS-NEU Archive and Festival THEATER DER WELT as Temporary Spaces” is also open. And at the Opera House? There were standing ovations for STREAM OF MEMORY.

The festival opened with the Screaming Man Choir from Oulu, SPLIT TOOTH: SAPUTJIJI by Tanya Tagaq and all the international curators.
