What a beautiful premiere! Yesterday we presented two new creations: "Das Gewächshaus (El invernadero)" by Pau Aran, and "Bodily Me - Bodily Us" by Helge Letonja.

Following the production Skin Deep, OCN delves deeper into our experience of the body and takes the next step. In doing so, physical self-awareness meets identity templates, norms, and attributions. Choreographers Pau Aran and Helge Letonja, each developing their own piece for this double bill, are united by the conviction that the body leads us to ourselves and reveals how many facets we must embrace to truly be ourselves.

In a dance between nature and culture, the evening explores ways to appreciate every form of physical existence.

Following the production "Skin Deep", OCN deepens its exploration of bodily experience. Here, the immediate experiences and physical memories of one’s own body are set against social judgments and attributions that often restrict and divide.
Choreographer Pau Aran, a longtime dancer with Pina Bausch, and Helge Letonja, the ensemble’s artistic director, are united by the conviction that dance can reveal how much changeability and movement the self should be allowed, and how the self can find a home within a community.
