The National Center for Afghanistan (UNIMA Afghanistan) is part of the UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette), which is an International Non-Governmental Organization, has been established by young artists to support and develop arts and culture, particularly the art of puppetry strives to achieve human values such as peace in the country without any political prejudices, religious, ethnic and racial in the light of the provisions and principles of holy religion of Islam with respect to human rights.
The aim of the UNIMA Afghanistan National Center is to promote the art especially art of puppetry in Afghanistan. This aim can be achieved in the following manners:
2.2.1 Creating opportunities for capacity building in the field of arts for artists puppeteers and use their ability to create this art in the country.
2.2.2 To maintain the culture and history of fine art, especially the art of puppet theater in Afghanistan.
2.2.3 To prepare the puppet arts to teach in all the primary schools across the country.
2.2.4 To increase participation and healthy competition between arts groups in the country.
2.2.5 To support art activities especially in the field of puppet theater.
2.2.6 For linking and connecting puppetry artist with other artistic and cultural center, especially communicating with the Faculty of Fine Arts / University of Kabul and the national and international art centers around the country and the world.
2.2.7 To organize programs for puppet theater in remote areas and away from sources of information such as the media, etc.
2.2.8 To organize and support meetings, conferences, lectures, art exhibitions and other national and international activities in all fields of art, especially in the field of puppet theater.
2.2.9 To participate, exchange and cooperation of art valence, especially in the field of puppet theater with other national and international centers and organizations which have similar goals.
2.2.10 Universal awareness about national and global events in the field of art and puppet theater, through all communication channels such as media, video, audio and social media on the Internet.
III - Membership types, conditions for membership:
- UNIMA Afghanistan has 2 types of memberships:
3.3.1 Main membership: all those interested in the art of puppet theater can be a member of UNIMA Afghanistan, and also all theater groups and all public and private institutions and organizations that there activities related to art, especially in the field of puppet theater, can be member of UNIMA Afghanistan.
3.3.2 Honorary Membership: This membership will give by national center board to those who are working and promoting art and culture, especially puppetry in around the country or around all over the world.
4 - The conditions of membership:
3.4.1 All interested persons in art and puppetry can subscribe to the National Center for Afghanistan (UNIMA Afghanistan) and it will done they’re membership to the following conditions:
3.4.2 Accepting all statute and rules of the National Center.
3.4.3 Complete required documents, fill out the membership form and a commitment to all statute and rules elements.
3.4.4 Pay the membership fee per year.
3.4.5 National Center for Afghanistan will receives all memberships fee.
5 - Member’s rights:
3.5.1 Each member of the Afghan National Center rights to:
3.5.2 Receive a membership ID card.
3.5.3 Benefit from all the advantages from its membership (domestic and external information, participation in domestic and external exchanges, etc.).
3.5.4 To participate in the General Assembly and councils until the person paid their fee to national center.
3.5.5 All members have the rights to comment, criticism and suggestions to the national
center.
6 - Member’s duties:
3.6.1 Each member of the Afghanistan National Center is required:
3.6.2 Artwork for activities and operations to achieve the objectives of the Afghanistan
National Center.
3.6.3 To respect and observe the Afghanistan National Center’s Statutes and Rules of
Procedure.
3.6.4 To participate in all meetings and extraordinary general meeting of the Afghanistan
National Center.
3.6.5 To pay the membership fees as fixed by the Afghanistan National Center or the
UNIMA Congress.
• It is noteworthy that the Afghanistan National Center, for honorary members are exempt
from paying fees.
7 - Loss of membership:
3.7.1 Each member of the following acts shall be expelled:
3.7.2 Who In the case of abuse from center name, his responsibly that give him from center
for his benefit at Afghanistan National Center or out of National Center and activity in
adverse of morality and human rights.
3.7.3 Who In the case of defects and violations of statute and rules of the Afghanistan
National Center.
3.7.4 Who has submitted resignation in writing.
3.7.5 Who has not paid membership fees for more than one year.
In case of cancellation of membership, the board of the Afghanistan National Center will
decide, if the person not accept he can reversion to the Executive Committee of
International UNIMA.
IV – Profile of Afghanistan National Center:
8– Official name, head office and legal representation:
4.15.1 The official name of the Organization is (Unima Afghanistan) « the Afghanistan National Center of UNIMA, branch of International UNIMA, (Union Internationale de la Marionnette) ».
4.15.2 The Afghanistan National Center’s Head Office is in Kabul – Afghanistan.
4.15.3 The issues of the Afghanistan National center statute and rules related and represented by president of Afghanistan National Center, when president not be available Deputy of president and Executive director can present for others.
4.15.4 The Afghanistan National Center currently haven’t any other provincial representation and also at suburbs of Kabul city yet, until decide of the board and the General Assembly for creating new center.
